Hi from SW Ohio

Retired from a big city school system as a shop Foreman at the bus garage in 2004. Ive owned a few used travel trailers and motor homes. Sold our last motorhome which was a 1994 model and bought a new 2013 Summerland 1890FL travel trailer to pull behind our Suburban. Quality sure has changed sense 1994. We have used our Summerland once and the plastic entrance door holder broke. Also the sofa bed has collapsed. The 1/8 inch plywood under the bed mattress cracked. Several other small problems also . I will be returning the trailer for warranty work later this week.
Didn't come here to complain, just want to learn a little about the new travel trailers. First question, my fresh water tank drain is about 8 inches from the road surface. It hangs down from the middle of the trailer. I'm afraid it will get knocked off from a piece of truck tire or something laying in the road. Is this the way they are suppose to be?

Welcome to the forum and good luck on the repairs. Most trailers have the fresh water as well as the low drain points hanging down from the trailer. Have not heard of issues but I guess it could happen. I have never given it a thought.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on getting your new camper.

I hope all your repairs go smoothly.

And hopefully it will be better than new and you can get out and get back to camping and enjoying it.

Be safe,

Jo
