Just recently I was thinking about the 1986 1 Ton Toyota. Sad to say, its max towing capacity was around 5,000 or so. I'm not even sure why it was so short lived. Maybe it couldn't carry that one ton up a hill, though it *did* have triple-digit horsepower.

Some salesman base their entire sale on a trained canned technique for selling. Some sales guys believe that telling your customer you need a bigger truck or a lighter trailer will hit them in the wallet and the sale will be terminated. My theory is the opposite. If you use honesty and don't let the customer do something you know they cant, to save a sale, is crazy town. I consistently weigh units and tongue weights at the dealership to ensure piece of mind for the customer and myself. Also asking the right questions keep you from showing customers units they cannot pull and then when you show them a light one they can pull they think its NOT a nice unit. Just basics boys and girls!
