Tank drain dilemma....

Just took our new fifth wheel out for the maiden voyage. Worked out many bugs and got alot figured out.
Time to go, find out that the unit was delivered with all waste tank valves open. Now we have an outlet pipe full to the cap.
Glad I was slow opening it because I have watched the movie RV.
Any tips on what the heck to do next?
Hoping for a quick response and helpful ideas.....

Thank you.

AaAARRgggghh!!!

It would seem to me that if you closed the gates and gathered a couple 5 gallon buckets ( and some gloves) that you would only collect what was already in the drain lines

Good Idea. Perhaps if we are standing by with a hose run to the dump station drain it could be quickly connected and the remainder would go as planned. Thanks for the logic. Shame on me for not checking the valves first. Shame on the manufacturer for leaving them open. Wondering if they were laughing????

Have an additional hose already connected to the sewer connection at your RV site. Lift the full hose up high enough to not lose any waste, as well as the end of the other hose already connected to the drain. Remove the cap on the full hose and connect the two together. You should be able to do this and not leak anything. Those Valterra Twist-on valves are also an excellent tool to have on board.

Thanks

Thanks everyone, got it.
Used the bucket. Wasn't nearly as much in the pipe as expected.
I do have a end of pipe shutoff with a clear section. Just hadn't hooked it up yet not expecting the main valves to be open. Using the clear section I also determined that the valves which that had been labeled " gray, gray, black" were indeed positioned as "gray, black gray". Another mislabel from the maker, seems I read that alot....
Anyway, all's good that ends good, another learning experience.

Thanks again.

By the way, I don't think it was the manufacturer that left the valves open, it was the dealer during their final prep. The same thing happened to us. Luckily, we noticed it before we used the system (much)
