Well crap, my 5th wheel was totaled before the PDI!!
My wife just got a call from our dealer telling her that our 333MKS was totaled on the way here. So now we have a quandary, take the one off the lot with swivel rockers in it, then when the replacement arrives swap out the swivel seats for the theater seating. Or wait 6-7 weeks for a new one. Great and my Monday was going along so well.

Thankfully it was totaled. I was told of a guy who ordered a camper from our local dealer. It was several weeks late arriving but he thought nothing of it. Later he found a paper inside with a phone number. Called the number, talked to a person there who told him his camper was torn up pretty bad in a wreck, and they were the ones who repaired it.
So, i guess maybe totaling it could have been a good thing???

That's a real lousy start to the week. Since a swap out of furniture can be done while you wait, if the dealer is close I would consider taking the unit on the lot.
If you don't have any travel plans then waiting for another factory order might be the way to go.

With a week long trip planed and reserved we opted to grab the one on the lot. Pick up and PDI is Friday at 1:00. When the new seats come in I'm sure I'll have a short list of fixes for them also. So I'll just drop it off and kill 2 birds with 1 stone. I guess it is best it was totaled!!!

I would have done the same thing as you. And like you said now you can get the new seats and whatever else you may find can get fixed. At least they told you it got wrecked (that is if it really did and they really ordered it) i wouldnt want a new unit that was wrecked at all.

Linedog; Sorry to hear about your disappointment, hopefully you have allocated enough time for a thorough PDI to lessen the chance of more surprises on your first planned trip. Just curious did you have a Vin # indicating that the rig existed? I would think having it totaled is far better than having it fixed at least in my opinion. Have a Safe and Enjoyable first trip

Consider asking for the detailed invoice list showing what you are being charged for the swivel seats, ask for a credit and then buy theater seating locally which may be of better quality, and get exactly what you want.

Dianne and I actually enjoy the swivel chairs better than theater seating. been with that on our 333MKS since Feb 2014.

That sucks about the unit, of course my mind goes right to the delivery driver and wondering what happened. I'm sure all will be well with your new unit, enjoy.

It wouldn't surprise me at all to find out your dealer actually is pulling a fast one on you. It also wouldn't surprise me if you chose to keep the swivel seats rather than switch to the theatre seating. We have friends with the theatre seating and they aren't crazy about them. They don't bad-mouth the seats, but wouldn't have them on their next trailer. Anyway, everything is going to turn out for the best. Be sure to download the PDI list and at a minimum read it over closely. It will be your friend for a few hours.

Get some free stuff to make you feel better like an extension cord and a bunch of cleaning and tank supplies to help heal your grief. Maybe a gas card too!!
They made a big deal about a free extension cord when we bought our Alpine. It's close to $200 so that was nice. When we went to use it we found it was a 30 amp cord. Called them and they sent a 50!! So now with our class C we have 3 cords and have used them many times.

Rex1vet is on the right track!!! Half the price $$$
If you do however decide to go with "factory" switch outs.... get it in writing!
