separate slideout controls

we have a 2015 Montana 3402, the living area three slides are controlled by one button on the control panel. Is there a way to change the one large slide to be on a separate button or control switch?

By control, do you mean a single control point like a wall panel or a single remote control? And, just to clarify, your three slides are not on a single button on a wall panel or remote control are they?

You didn't specify the age of your trailer and the type of control system you have for the slides. If you're looking to add a second remote control to the system (which is my guess), we would need to know exactly what controller you have so that someone could find the manual and look up this info.

This may get you pointed in the right direction. All the manuals for the Lippert remote systems are available online at http://lci1.com/support-center

Select Electronics on the left and then select Manuals on the right side of the page.

You will have to determine which control system is installed in your unit and then consult the manual.

Your slides are most likely hydraulic and operated by a set of lines from a single pump/reservoir. To accomplish what your asking, you would need to disconnect the desired slide from the system, remove and cap those lines at the pump and install a separate hydraulic system.

Can it be done? yes, and like I have said many times, anything is possible with enough time and money. Is it worth it? not in my opinion.

If your trying to just open one slide, you can locate the pump assembly. there should be valves on top of a manifold with a screw knob for each slide. you can close one at a time to isolate which is which, and then if you only want to open one slide, close the other two valves. BE SURE to make note of how many turns the screws are in the "normal" position. IF/WHEN you do operate the slide with valves closed, understand that ALL the pressure is going to be in one hose not three, and if your not careful at the end of movement, hoses/fittings can bust loose.

PLUS 1 for Chuckster57!

My Alpine has a manifold with hydraulic control valves for each individual slide. They're even labeled , (whether the labels are right or not.... that may be another story... I've never checked!) Look near your hydraulics reservoir / setup, and they should be pretty evident.

Let us know how you make out.

I have a 2014 Avalanche. Not one of my five were labeled correctly!

On my Alpine, all 4 valves are labeled correctly, easily accessed, and work great to allow individual slides to be turned on or off.

Ditto for the Lippert Hydraulic system on my Alpine also. Bedroom slide is cable driven. The other three are hydraulic and labeled Main, opposing, kitchen. Simply turning the knob on any of the slides shuts it off so you can open/close one, two or all 3 at a time. Works great for getting my lawnmower in/out when slides are out.
