Install of 2nd A/C

Looking for input on adding a 2nd A/C to our unit in signature. Have a quote from one dealership and am waiting on 2 other quotes. Anything special I need to inquire about. The first dealership quote went to Keystone with the vin to find out if they could duct it back into the existing system and Keystone said no. This is fine with me. Unit on first quote is the Dometic Penguin 13.5 low profile.

Thanks
Tim

I had the 15k unit on our RV when purchased. I had the Penguin 13.5 installed in the bedroom with no ducting. After spending the last 2 1/2 months in FL I will tell you I would NEVER be without one in that kind of heat and moisture....plus, when the highway noise or trash truck comes around at 4am it drowns them out....and I'm pullin up covers!! Believe I paid about 900 give or take a few bucks with the $39 install from CW at the time. Buy it....you won't regret it. We have said repeatedly on this trip that it was the best purchase we have made. Good luck.

Yep, we're parked 10 feet from the bay ay Goose Island and the highs are in the mid 90's with 80% to 100%... we LOVE the front A/C....

I have about the same story. Had the low profile Penguin 13.5K installed and would not be without it(one) from now on. With NC heat and humidity its a must in the summer time.
Price was about 950.00 installed when we purchased the camper.

We installed our own, it was already wired for the 2nd a/c. Really wasn't hard to do if you have a couple guys who can lift it. Even if we had to pay for the installation it would be well worth it.

We installed ourselves a few years ago, great addition for the 2nd unit in bedroom, was prewired, not a big deal. Hardest part is getting it on the roof! Ladder, rope and cardboard slide, took a couple of hours start to cooling finish.

So we have made our appointment for July 7th for install on the low profile Penguin 13.5 unit. We camped the last 4 nights here in central Virginia and it was hot. I always try to find the shadiest sites which we had but the 15K just couldn't keep up. So looking forward the the 2nd unit. Thanks

Good move with ordering that 2nd unit. Lot's of capitol invested in units and vehicles for enjoyment.... Not so enjoyable when it's 88deg in the unit the aircon can't keep up! We actually run three units in our 325SRX, Main unit, bedroom 13.5 and a portable in the bay, it's a 7.5K that vents out a window and drains in a tube through the floor! Myrtle Beach is awesome, however without shade, the unit gets hot and we found the extra units just make vacation better.
