Furrion Reception

We have a Furrion OBSERVATION system on a 33 ft 5ver. Hooked up I get a good signal. Start moving and it loses signal. Antenna on camera is vertical. Tried moving receiver and antenna but the signal just comes and goes. Any suggestions?

The only thing I can suggest is to take your monitor or screen and take it to the rear of your RV and pair it again with the camera and see if that helps any. I was having trouble getting ours to get the signal and had to do that...works great now on a 43ft RV.

I have 48' between observation camera on back of TT and monitor on dash in TV, and don't have an issue.

I did have a problem with the mount for the monitor...didn't clear the interior slope of the windshield. Point is I contacted Furrion and they were extremely helpful and sent me a newly designed mount at no charge, and it worked fine.

Suggest calling Furrion and explaining the situation. Possible they have an external antenna solution for the monitor, or a repeater like with the TPMSs. If the customer support person answering can't help you, ask for "Jim"...he is the manager. He was the person that actually helped me.

Good luck,
Mike

Mine works great. On a 38 ft travel trailer with a ram 2500 crew cab around 45 to 50 ft distance.

Furrion did respond back to me and suggested removing camera and to re-pair it using the cable from the cigarette adapter. They also recommended an aftermarket antenna they have tested and confirms it aids in increasing the signal. The antenna is https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Great hope that fixes your problem. Let us know how it works, may help someone else out. Love ours and don`t want to leave home without it now.

I had a chance to check ours our - had two "bars" 35' fifth wheel and 21' truck. Was great towing along I-95 and I-81. Was nice to be able to see behind me when passing or changing lanes. Monitor was mounted near the heater controls. antenna on camera and monitor is vertical.

If you are going to use the aftermarket antenna, make sure that the camera antenna jack is a SMP male with pin. Mine is not, so had to order a pin-to-pin adapter to use an extension antenna. Ordered this adapter:

Hope it works for me.

Tried everything Furrion suggested. Nothing works. Sold unit as is with disclaimer that I had these issues. Will live with rear view mirrors for now.

Quick question for you, Phdruss, did you get the FRC12 model or the FOS48 version? I had ordered from Amazon, through one of their vendors and even though I ordered the FOS48, I received a FRC12. I checked closely, since I've heard the FOS48 has 5 times the power of the FRC12, and when I got it the box looks almost identical. Had to send it back.

It was the FOS48. Double checked and even sent the serial numbers to Furrion and they verified the camera and receiver are matching units. I will in the near future buy another one and give it another shot. Thinking it was just a bad unit but I was frustrated with it and Furrion. Did you wind up getting the FOS48 and is it working properly??
