HELP stains on window rubber

My cougar fifth wheel has a terrible problem with the rubber trim around the Windows being stained with black looking mildew. See pictures. I have tried all sorts of products including black Mark remover. Any advice and help would be appreciated. The wife wants it gone even if it means replacing it. Thanks

Do you know what it is? Mold/mildew? Looks like you are in Thomasville, GA about an hour from where my daughter and grandgirls live (one's boyfriend is from Thomasville). I've seen lots of trailers down there that have the black/black green "stuff" all over them from just sitting in that environment; I assume Thomasville is the same way.

Not knowing exactly what it is, I would suggest trying Starbrite mold and mildew remover. It's primarily for marine use but it has worked very well for us on several different applications outside of marine equipment. I get ours from Overton's but I'm sure West Marine or some other marine outfit would have it. Give it a try and see if it won't get that off there. Good luck.

I use Bleche-Wite, the same stuff you spray on tires to clean them. Just "DON'T" get it on the FILON siding. Pour some in a small container, use a wash cloth, dip it in the Bleche-Wite, apply liberally, but not enough to cause it to drip or run onto the siding. Dab it on the rubber/vinyl molding, rub gently and rinse. Follow up with a good coating of Aerospace 303 conditioner.

John makes a good point. The Starbrite should be applied the same way on the side of a trailer I imagine. The first time I used it I just sprayed away and cleaned not realizing I completely ruined a black insulated jacket due to bleach stains......

dk47,

Keep us informed on how things go. Your input will help other members as they "fight" the same problems. It's always good to get feedback on what works, what doesn't, what is easy and what made the job impossible..... Good Luck !!!
