Plumbing question

I have a water hose leaking coming off the city water (on back side of panel). Hose that is leaking at the manifold is a 1/2 inch plastic connection attaching to plastic male connection on manifold. Has anyone had an issue hooking up a metal connector to plastic? It's all I could find at the hardware store at the moment. The metal connector does have a washer and the one leaking does not??

If the 1/2” pipe you are talking about is the PEX used in most rigs now, no, it doesn’t matter if the PEX fittings are plastic or metal, usually brass. Whatever it takes to stop your water leak is better than allowing it to continue. Most of the Sharkbite type fittings will say what types of piping they will work on, and usually PEX will be on the list.

Thanks, that helps. Wasn't sure about brass vs plastic. A small drip every 5-8 seconds sure makes a heck of a puddle in the basement overnight
