The OP is too polite. Not me. What part of wood/charcoal is difficult to understand?

Ha! Ha! Reminds me of our earlier years of marriage; didn't have enough money to buy me and/or DW expensive things separately so we bought things we mutually liked - primarily tools. Thankfully she likes woodworking and making things as much as I do. I'll never forget telling her I had a huge surprise for her for her 30th birthday.....loaded her in the truck and drove 120 miles to Roswell, NM to pick up a new DeWalt 7770 radial arm saw! We both loved that thing, still have it and still love it!
Hope you find the perfect wood/charcoal cooker but couldn't resist. I love my Blackstone as well - in fact cooking on it tonite.

Thanks. You stated what I was thinking. I’m sure some folks like their gas grills but if I’m going to use propane I just as well cook in the oven. Hard to beat the taste of charcoal and wood.

I like it so much that I tried taking it home from our first camping trip on the day, thinking I would set it up in our backyard. I got that look from the wife>you know the one, NOT GONNA HAVE IT LOOK.
So it stays with the TT!
I mean Helen Keller could cook a perfect steak with it.

I like our Weber Q 2200 propane grill because my wife likes it. She's not a fan of our old Smoky Joe because it was charcoal and messy to store. Personally, I'll eat any meat if it's cooked in any manner; I'll even eat some just nearly cooked.
I have to admit I became less of a charcoal smoke fan when I realized that charcoal is often made of coal... once I delivered coal to a charcoal briquet plant. I always thought charcoal was made of pure charred wood, done like I did for a scout project eons ago in the middle of the last century. I suppose a person could char a little real wood in any type grill, for flavor only.
At any rate my wife likes the Q so well, she does the outdoor cooking now while I sit and drink a toast to her new toy. Don't get no better than that.

GMG Davey Crocket. Sits nicely in the front of the bed of pickup. Easy to clean. Will do 3 racks, a couple chickens, a pork butt or brisket. We also use our cast iron Dutch oven (12 qt.). Nice to have it on 12v dc, doesn’t draw hardly any power when we’re on solar. Uses very few pellets.

I bought a cheap 2 burner Nexgrill from Costco that I use for the quick stuff (chicken thighs, burgers). I normally like to use the real fire. Always on the lookout for some type of fire pit attachment like the adjustable set up that John has. It has to be reasonably priced and look well made. One day.....

grill
I have replaced my large Aussie grill (came with the rv) with a portable gas (small propane tank) Char-Broil - love it. It's small and light and also comes in a charcoal/wood version.

We ran out of funds for now, so I used a camping stove that someone gave us and a grill pan that was $10. Actually worked well for us on my last trip. Grilled some chicken, cooked pancakes, cooked bacon, cooked eggs. The grill pan has a griddle side and a grill mark side.
