Hwy 101 closure and detour north of Brookings

Hwy 101 is closed North of Brookings, this looks like it will be a while before it is fully repaired. This is a video from Sky Lakes Media, I would call this a major slide.

Russ that does look like a major repair/rebuild.
Do you know if it affects RV parks around the area? We have a trip planned for this summer.

Russ - thanks for posting this info! We have planned a trip to South Beach during the first week of April and our plan was to cross over to the coast via Hwy 20 from I-5 to US 101 at Willits then up the coast on 101.
( We usually take I-5 up to Sutherlin and then go across to the coast, but wanted to see the country around Clear Lake and then drive up the coast for a change of scenery.)

Looking at the Atlas, SR 255 might be a way around the slide. Do you have any thoughts on this route? Maybe we should just take I-5

There is a detour in place, some steep grades, some tight turns and currently rough surface. I would think repairs/rebuilding that section will take well into Summer, that ODOT would also do some surface patching on the detour.
The slide are is 12 miles north of Brookings.
