Oregon SP getting busier

Oregon State Parks are getting busier according to a report on Portland channel KATU. The report stated last year the parks had 51.7 Million visits, and it was the fourth record year.
Please keep coming! That and 2.7 million camping nights in 57 parks that have overnight camping.

That is 7,397 campers per night. 2.7 million /365.
That is 130 campers per campground per night 7,397/57 = 129.776
That is a great average per night.

We have some big campgrounds with 300 to 400+ sites, but that is an impressive number. This is why we state reservations recommended.

This is an story in the Statesman Journal.

Yes, our state parks are being loved to death.

Keep in mind that the popular state parks are on the ReserveAmerica system and open up for reservations roughly 9 months in advance for the date, so if you are coming this summer, many of the sites are already gone, particularly on summer weekends and holidays.

I made my reservations for this July-August last October and December due that they fill up so fast. It is so far in advance and you don't know what will be happening in one's life that fay in advance. But isn't camping in Oregon beautiful?

I love camping in Oregon! I always make my labor day weekend state park reservations the first day that I can in early December.

That's where I'm staying labor day weekend. Never been there, but I'm assuming it's pretty nice.

Got 5 nights at Fort Stevens and 6 nights at South Beach.

Now all I have to do is find wineries near them
