Lubricating Slide Rollers

Ok so I have an XLite 29RLI. When I put the main slide out it hops and squeals quite a bit, sounds like the slide rollers? need to be lubed. Anyone else done this, and where and with what do you lube them with? Or just grin and squeal alongside of it when working the slide...lol

Mine (Keystone Carbon 337 toyhauler) just started doing the same thing, only when I retract it. Had it for 2 years (purchased new) and this just started happening, I'm a bit concerned. Cables seem fine (no noticeable slack or anything). Hoping for some insight...

The bottom wear bar and seal plate may just need conditioning. There are RV formulated conditioners that can be purchased like this that may help with the hopping, jerky, squeeky slideout. Other known solutions (the one I have used) is baby powder. Climb under the slide out while fully extended. Apply a liberal coat to the rubber seal along the bottom length of the slide. Then run the slide in and out about 4 or 5 times. Amazing how quiet my slides are now.

Very important to get the proper lubricant. You don't want anything that will allow dirt to stick to it. I found a proper slide lubricant and with the slide extended last year I sprayed every part that looked movable. I never had issues, it was more of a maintenance move. Also a great idea to find again the proper silicon lubricant to apply to all the rubber seals around slides.

Use a silicone spray lubricant on all the moving parts, I've used the WD40 silicone & Liquid Wrench silicone both found at Walmart. Usually if it's bought at or says "rv" it cost twice as much.
As for seals, the factory techs recommended using Pledge furniture polish on all rubber seals & gaskets, been doing so for the last 6 years. I use the Pledge imitation found at dollar stores, it cleans & lubricates without dirt sticking or harming the rubber.

All great ideas. I have to replace the rubber seal anyway under the main slide so it will be a good chance to lube it. Thanks!
