Awning not closing right

Hello all Memebrs,

I am a new member. I own a new 2022 Springdale 1800BH that I purchased last month.

I just used my awning two times (to test it) and I have a problem with the right arm not closing completely (the left arm is fine). It did this the second time I used it. There was no wind and I left it open for 2 minutes.

I tried this Youtube tutorial and even by moving the awning material, it still doesn't close completely. https://youtu.be/Y9aQ_YFKVqw

Here are two pics:

Does someone know how to adjust the arm or awning.

Thanks,

Intravino

Open it up and check for anything that may have got in between the arm. Had the same problem and when checking the arm I found some trash had blown under it. Once I removed it it closed fine. I don’t know of an adjustment on the arm. Might check u tube if there is one some has posted how to adjust it.

Looks like a knurled knob that is causing the problem. Pic #2 seems to show it hitting wall mounted channel about 18” from the bottom.

If you push on it gently when closing, does it go in place, or still stand out like that? Have someone push the button to close the awning while someone else puts gentle pressure on the arm as it's closing?

Buddy had same problem on his. Turns out that when he used the awning he had pulled the adjuster arm down to tilt the awning while open. He did not get it completely straight before pulling back in. Caused the same issue. Once we made sure that arm tilt rod was completely straight before closing it went right back in.

If you have that style awning it’s best NOT to try to make it straight, just retract the awning and will straighten itself out. If you happen to go even a touch past straight it will ruin the arm… ask me how I know, haven’t done it but seen it.

The arm goes in but it comes out after letting go.

My wife pushed on the button when I was holding on the arm and it pops out after go.
