Propane and battery compartment doors

I noticed the main propane door and the 3 bottle storage door along with the battery compartment door do not have key locks on them. Seems to me those are some easy items for scumbags to snag.

Anyone else have the same setup?
Anyone install their own set of locks?
Got any links on a good keyed alike RV lock for those type of access doors?
Will probably buy 3 keyed alike if I can find them

They don't put locks on the propane doors in case you have to shut off in case of a emergency

NO RV will have access to LP tanks/cylinders locked from the factory. DOT rules prohibit it, you can secure the bottles to the coach with a locking device ( chain, cable, etc).

So I can add one more location you won't find locked-the hydraulics compartment. That's three on the toy hauler(unless yours are combined). Due to the hazardous nature of the items, I would think first responders need to get access without having to go fishing for someone's keys. And yes, that first responder might be you.

Make sense now. My battery and hydraulic are in the same compartment.

Hydraulics are in the front compartment on Grand design fifth wheels just above the battery. And in the second drivers side compartment in Tiffen motorhomes. Both lockable, so I don't think hydraulic fluid counts.

I can't explain why Keystone chose to make the battery and the hydraulics compartments unlockable in our unit then. I'm not too concerned. Statistically, everywhere you stay there are lots of units with batteries and propane bottles so even if someone is out with sticky fingers, the odds are it won't happen to any of us right?

Huh, my battery/hydraulics compartment has a lock on it. That is, if you call a CH751 a "lock". The genny compartment also has a "lock", as does the fuel station, which I would think wouldn't.

Locks just keep honest folks honest. If someone wants your battery and it is in a locked compartment it will cost you a new battery and a new compartment door.

My thoughts exactly. That's why I tend to not lock my compartment doors and don't keep anything too valuable in them.

29 years in a prison, locks and keys meant your LIFE...I keep it all LOCKED even in my own back yard.

I put locks on my Fuzion for the battery and hydraulic system doors. Simply switch out the non-locking swivel for one that's keyed. I bought them as a 4-pack and swapped out my generator and leveling system control doors too so now all of my front compartments use a single key. I agree with the others that the propane should be left unlocked.

The front compartment behind the pin in this Fuzion is pass through. Starting from the street side are the hydraulics, the propane, the generator, and finally the battery(s) on the curb site. The generator is completely enclosed surrounding its compartment door(locking) with a metal box. There are low walls between the hydraulics and the propane compartment, and the generator and the battery compartment that do not reach the ceiling of the compartment allowing full airflow from street to curb accross the propane and generator enclosure. I wonder if the fact the entire space is open to the propane could be the reason for no locks.
