Toy hauler fuel pump issues

2015 Fuzion 345 - Went to use my fuel pump to fill up the rzr and turned the pump on and it shut down after cranking up (before I could pump any gas out). Turns out I blew the 20a fuse inside. Didn't know if it was because the tank was empty so filled it up and tried it again with new fuse...same thing...flip the switch on at the pump and it starts to "crank up" (guessing priming itself) and then blows the fuse. It worked fine last fall...apparently I have developed a short? This ever happen to anyone else? I don't even know where to start for trouble shooting it

Mine seize up in the summer then works great in winter. The rubber impeller swells in hot summers. The rebuild kits are easy to install. Every now and then pump some gas through it maybe back to gas tank.

That's the odd thing...it worked fine all last year and I pumped all the gas out of it before winter....went to pump some out after filling it up for first time and it turns on for a few seconds and is priming itself and then blows the fuse inside on the panel in the garage??

I leave gas tank usually full ,add a gas saver. But always run the generator once a week and run the gas pump.

I run my genny a good bit as well, but not the fuel pump. I thought I had read about this issue somewhere before and I did find a thread on the big Rv board...I'm betting my gears have swelled in the pump and binding up, thus blowing the fuse. Going to check it out by loosening the four bolts a bit to gain a tiny bit of room and see if it works, but sounds like this is common issue with th fuel stations. I'll report back when I try it

Toy hauler fuel pump issues

Pulled the pump and the plastic gears and sanded the sides down and reinstalled. Gears turn and don't blow the fuse now, but it appears I have lost prime as no fuel comes out?? Anyone lost prime on theirs and if so, what was the fix? I am wondering if I sanded too much or my gasket seal isn't good?

If you took the pump out of the trailer, make sure the power and ground are hooked up correct. The pump is polarity sensitive.

Didn't take it all the way out. Just enough to pull the cover and get to the gears. Pump worked fine all last year and earlier this year, so the wiring is good. The gears spin when turned on after I sanded them down but it isn't sucking fuel. It's like it needs primed or something?

I had the same exact issue. I came to the conclusion that I may have sanded the gears too much, because a brand new set of gears fixed the issue.

Kazuaki - I found similar thing. I put new gears and gasket in and it worked. However, if I let pump run without pumping, the fuse blows? If I start pumping right away it works fine? Odd, but at least it is working

Another note I talked to eci and there is an anti siphon valve in the fuel line inlet (where the line goes into the tank). Said sometimes those can stick. Also said I should pump the fuel back through the tank on a regular basis
