Tub caulking?

Is there supposed to be a bead of caulking between the tub/shower walls and the tub? When I bought my TT last year I caulked it with silicone but it has now broken loose. Is it supposed to be caulked?

No, the design is the tub lip comes up behind the wall. It is made this way because of the movement when traveling.
