Question New Member with A New Passport 195RB

Good morning. We just got a new Passport 195RB and I just joined the forum. We ordered ours with the queen bed, but it came in with the "Murphy Bed". After some frank discussion with the dealer, we arrived at a solution we both could live with. Here are some initial thoughts after a quick shake-down run: The 195RB pulls well with my F150 5.4. We wanted a small trailer with no slides, and it's really getting hard to find anything in this realm. The only other choice was a Freedom Express, but the local dealers were apparently too busy to even quote. The cabinetry seems to be well-made and the engineering is good overall. There was no 2015 brochure available when we ordered, so we were going off the 2014 info. They tell us the queen bed is no longer available for new orders, but I doubt that's true. Biggest issues so far: No 120 volt outlets beyond the dinette/kitchen going forward. If you want to plug in a CPAP or fan in the bedroom area, you will have to run an extension cord. That's a poor design. Even though I knew the trailer would have no rear bumper, it's still causing me some heartburn trying to design an way to mount a bike rack. The lack of bumper makes the trailer look really clean and sleek, but I must have a bike rack. When I figure this out I'll share the solution with others. I'll be happy to answer any questions I can.

Welcome to the forum and to Keystone RVing.

Looking at the 2015 Passport brochure in the online archive:
http://www.keystonerv.com/request-a-...brand=Passport

On page 4, the Murphy Bed is advertised as "standard in the 195rb and 238m".
On page 5, the only options are listed as: "15,000 BTU A/C, Aluminum Wheels"

So it is very likely that Keystone no longer offers a conventional bed in these two models.

As you compare your RV to others, you come to find that RV manufacturers regularly substitute and change model features and options throughout the model year. Seldom are the brochures updated to reflect these, sometimes very significant changes on the production line.

One of the complaints heard from many dealerships is that Keystone doesn't give them notice of changes either. Often the first a dealership learns of a model change or even a new model floorplan is when the first one rolls onto their lot. On the Cougar 27RKS, the entire front floorplan was changed between the 2011 and 2012 model years. Our dealer found out when his first 2012 model came in from the factory that the upper deck slide had been moved from the curb side to the road side. The customer who had ordered that trailer was happy with the floorplan, but it could have easily been a disaster had they preferred the old style trailer.

There are bike racks that can fit on the tongue of your TT. Or you can do like I do and put them in the bed of the truck. We are enjoying our 238ML. Looked at other TT with Murphy beds and couldn't find one we liked. I do wish we had a couch. Have fun. Enjoy the ride.

You can also find where people have mounted fork mounts to the wood where the dinette benches are. Put the table down, remove the seating pads and put the bikes there.
