Trailer Ball Hitch

I just picked up a new truck 2500 HD Silverado. I have a Bullet 284RLS and was wondering how high I should set the ball. My trailer is in storage and is not on level ground so I cannot measure the hitch and get a good measurement. I do not have an 1"1/8 soccet at home so will need to adjust my trailer hitch at a garage before I go pick up my trailer. Here is another angle for the same question, "How high is the top of the trailer hitch from the ground up when the trailer is level?" This will give me what I need.
Thanks for the help

I'll let you know tomorrow. I will be hooking up to my 284RLS to move it and will take some measurements.

The top of the ball is 25" off the ground when not hooked up. It's 22" of the ground when hooked up with bars ready to go down the road and the trailer is sitting almost perfectly level.

One thing you should consider about the ball height when not hooked up. My pickup is a 1/2 ton and settles quite a bit when hooking up before attaching the bars. On your truck, which is a 3/4 ton, I'm sure it won't settle quite as far when lowering the trailer on the ball.

Hope this helps.

BulletOwner, this is a big help. I will set my ball at between 23 & 24" high. I can make minor adjustments later. Thanks for the measurements.
