Leveling Question
Hello, my wife and I just took delivery of a brand new 2015 Passport Elite 23RB. This is an upgrade from a little pop up camper which was a single axle and very easy to do side to side leveling.
I picked up a pack of trailer life leveling blocks. But with the extra distance between the spread axles I'm not sure if a single pack is enough. So my question is, when doing side to side leveling, do both axles on the side that needs to be adjusted have to be raised or can you achieve the necessary adjustment by raising just a single axle?

On our 5th wheel I do both depending how much I need to get it level. Don't think you will damage anything either way. Have fun with that new toy..good luck.

Our axles are not spread and I don't think it makes that much difference whether the axles are spread further apart as in your case but I almost always put boards under both wheels of the low side. I have seldom put leveling blocks or boards under just one wheel/axle.

I too use a board long enough to fit under both tires if needed.

You can put one stack under one axel, and a separate stack under the other axel.
It will not hurt to put blocks under one axel, but the effect will be less.

Level Both Sides
I would level both wheels on the side that needs it.
I have done away with those leveling blocks (legos) and use the Anderson system now .... they are great.

I was wondering about those after seeing them at a camper store. I've got a set of the Lynx blocks, and they work well, but I might try this system next year. I like the blocks because I can use them under the wheels or under the stabilizers if necessary.
Edit: BTW - who levels their camper using a level on the side wall? Do you have to trust that the walls are perfectly perpendicular to the floor? I use a level on the floor inside the door or the storage area.

I used to use boards. Also used to use the level on the side wall, however I leveled the trailer out with a level on the floor and counter top before placing the levels on the sides. Now I just hit the automatic level button, stand back and watch it do it's thing.

It's obvious that some folks don't have much sympathy or appreciation for those of us who have to do some real work to get our rigs level. Umph! I suppose you have an automatic awning too........

We have 4 sets of lynx levelers. We put them under both wheels. Once in a great while we put one under one wheel and 2 under the other but that is rare. Whatever we do not use under the wheels go under the corner jacks.

We, too, use the Lynx levelers and put them under both axles. But it will also work to just put them under one axle. We have never had to use more than two levels so one box has always served us well. We don't go out boon docking where you may be really unlevel.

Another lynx leveler user here. Been using them since 2008. I use equal numbers under each tire on low side.

Whatever you use to level your RV, and however you go about it, the most important thing for me is to make sure the fridge is level enough to cool and THEN make sure the stove top is level! The DW does not like to see the eggs run over into one corner of the skillet. After 47 years of wedded bliss, I know who has to be happy for me to be happy

I level side to side using the rear bumper as a guide. I carry numerous pieces of 3/4 inch ply cut 8" X 16" that I use under the wheels of the low side and then block the wheels when levelled. Front to back I level using the tongue jack with the counter top as a guide. This is all done prior to putting the slide out.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I think I'll bring a couple of pieces of wood just in case. Most of the sites we camp at are pretty level to begin with. I do like the looks of the Anderson Leveling System. Looks real easy!

I have sympathy, I still remember what it was like. In fact this thread just reminded me how nice it is not to have the 2x8s loaded up taking additional space, I had forgotten all about them.
It's not an automatic awning, I have to push the switch

We too picked up our 2015 23RB last week and use the Anderson levers. They are very easy to use and are stable. I do not see us using anything else. What I really like is that the onus is on the wife to tell me to stop when SHE is happy we are level.

I have tried the lynx levelers in the past, they worked ok as long as you don't need to go up higher than two. If you have to go 3 high the slide instead of the tire climbing up on them. You have to build a bridge/ramp with them which then becomes an issue getting both axles up, especially on close spaced axles.

Unless one wheel happens to be sitting lower than the other on the same side, I would put blocks under both axles.

We use the Lynx blocks too.
When we first got our trailer, I put a bubble level in the fridge on the thingie that gets cold. I leveled the trailer in all directions then attached 2 levels near the propane tanks in the front one for side to side the other for back to front.
