Smile New to us 5th Wheel...

Hi everyone...
My husband and I became proud owners of a new to us 2012 Keystone Cougar 328QBS 5th Wheel bunkhouse camper in October and we are finally able to get it into our campgrounds (its super muddy right now). This is an upgrade from a 1981 Coachman that never left the campsite let alone the campground it was in.

I am a member of the fire rescue safety team at Watkins Glen International so we use our camper regularly. Now that my husband is retiring, we are looking to actually use it in other places too...which is pretty exciting.

First towing experience ever for me went smooth as glass...thankfully. We pull it with a 2015 F250 Superduty that has a Curt Q20 hitch in it and the truck clearly had more than enough power to pull our Cougar. Last weekend was the first weekend we were actually able to use it- for now its just me & Dad until my husband comes home from the Navy and we had so much room. Truth be told I didnt want to leave when it was time to go home...lol.

Obviously being new to the 5th Wheel world (and the world of fully functional campers) we have found a few questions....glad to have found the forum!!

Glad you found the forum. Lots of great folks here who are eager to help.

Being in the Navy you are probably familiar with the Norfolk, VA area. If not, check out the campground at Dam Neck Annex. Great Oceanside camping at very reasonable prices. It’s very popular, so reserve early.

Welcome to the forum from a Marine Corps family. Good times to be had! And enjoy your time with your dad. Many of us would donate our eye teeth for one more week-end around the fire with ours.
