3.31 vs 3.55 gears

Hello,
My 2016 SRW F350 6.7 diesel was totaled due to a driver running a red light & T-boning me. I am now searching for a replacement truck.
I found a leftover 2017 F350 diesel with 3.31 gears, my 2016 had 3.55 gears.
Would the 3.31 gears be a bad idea pulling my Impact 361? Ford's tow rating is the same for both ratios. What are
your thoughts?
Thank you.

I have 3.31 gearing in my 2015 F250. The 6.7 RPM runs a "tad below" where my BIL's F250 runs. Both are in the power band and both perform about the same. I'm at 1650 RPM when he is at 1800 RPM. Towing our fifth wheels, both in Tow/Haul, my transmission will downshift just a tad earlier than his when pulling the same hills at the same speed. Honestly, I can not tell a "hill of beans difference" between the two trucks, although the tach says mine runs slower.

With the HP/Tq those engines make I don't think it will make much difference in how the trailer "tows", maybe a touch easier on the wallet when you fuel up.

Wish one of the new trucks was in my price range, Id love to give up my 220Hp and 325 lb/ft of torque 4:11 gears....BUT its paid for

"Paid for" is good. And 3:31 to 3:55 will be insignificant at the pump. Take it and run!

I bought the F350 with the 3.31 gears, in a couple of weeks the bed rails for my 5th wheel hitch will be installed.
Thanks for your input 😃
