Laredo 298srl

I just purchased a 2018 Laredo 298srl fifth wheel. Will pick it up soon. Anybody have any tips on any potential issues I should look out for when I inspect it at the dealership on pick up day?

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new trailer!! Don't have that one but there is a PDI list on the forum that will help you immensely in checking the things that need to be checked before you drive off with it. I'll try to find it and post it for you (I'm doing my depressing taxes...)

Here's the PDI thread...

The dump valves are cable operated. On our trailer, the actuator cable for the galley tank was routed in such a way that the cable was nearly kinked and the valve would not close completely. Make sure your dump valves work correctly.

The fascia above the slides is a three piece construction. On our trailer, the sections did not mate up correctly. Purely cosmetic. The fix was to add a couple of screws.

The flexible drive adapters used to manually move the slides are zip tied to the slide motors. Our dealer had no clue what a flexible drive adapter was, let alone where they were stored/hidden.

We love our trailer - really great floor plan for our use.

Thank you for your reply
One of the main reasons for choosing this unit was the 10000GVWR
In Manitoba we can only tow up to 10000lbs. GVW with a class 5 license.
This was the nicest unit we could find that fit that specification.

Similar situation here. We needed a trailer in the 10000# range to stay within the gvwr of our truck.

That list looks great! Be patient and don't let them rush you or don't be too excited that you miss something. I thought I checked everything, but when I got home the bedroom lights did not work and the fuse was blown?? I boiled water in the microwave, crawled under and checked the suspension, checked the A/C was cold, the freezer was cold, etc. but missed the lights! Anyway just be calm and thorough! BTW they had to replace the whole wire back to the bedroom - must have been a screw or staple in the original. All is well now - next weekend will be our 1st trip - I can't wait!

I’m sorry but that’s funny (NOT!) part of a proper dealer prep is to verify they are there and during the walkthrough, show them to the customer and explain their operation. I take them off the motors so they can’t potentially bind in the chain, put them in the owners packet and during walkthrough show them to the customer and explain what they are and how they work.

Thanks for the information regarding the flex drives. Never considered they might end up in the chain. Going to take then off of the motors today. Isn't this forum great?
