I actually paid $95,000 on a $150,000 unit but it doesn't matter, at 77 I will probably not be alive at 87 but certainly not travelling.

So you're paying more than three times as much for a little more than twice the coverage?

Insurance
Try Miller insurance. They have a broad variety of insurance vendors and write a pretty tailored approach to RV’s , full-timers and etc. I am insured through them with nationwide. I found them really easy to work with and reasonably priced.

Remember CDN vs USD so it's more like 50% more but I also have double the contents and I am full time. I do not own any other house. If you add your house and RV together then that is more equivalent.

Didn't realize you were in Canada. Isn't it about 75 cents on the dollar, or has that changed?

Exchange rates change second by second, but the nominal rate at the moment is it costs $1.35CDN for $1USD at the banks, but can be gotten cheaper if you deal through the exchange floor as I did when buying my RV, that rate is about $1.32. 3 cents might not seem like much but that's close to $2,000 on a big 5th wheel. Basically paid for the washer and dryer.

We just added or 5er to our insurance with the Auto Club, we had a big claim and they were very quick and efficient.

Can anyone point me to the forum that deals with travel trailer insurance.
Thanks,

I have Southern Auto Owners. Hurricane Michael totaled my 2019 cougar. It was 4 days old and had never been towed. They covered 100% no questions. I also have my truck and car with them. Prices are reasonable. Your zip code has something to do with the pricing. Service has been very good.

For those of you using or considering Good Sam, be careful with your payments. I had them for years but changed to PEMCO where I have my homeowner's and auto insurance.
I was using the bill pay system through my credit union. I set up to have a paper check sent to Good Sam since they weren't on the e-payments list at the credit union then. I picked the day before the bill was due for the check to show up and paid the bill. Apparently my credit union didn't allow enough time for the check to go through the mail and it showed up two days late.
Without even contacting me, Good Sam cancelled my policy. I found out I no longer had insurance when I got an e-mail from them the day after the payment was due. They gave no leeway at all. Only after I got in touch with them, did the reinstate my account.

From 2007 to 2014 we had Farmers and our TT's were covered under Foremost.
From 2015 to 2018 we had a Class A and AAA was our insurance company for the
cars/house/MH.
We now have American Family and house/car/truck/5th wheel are all covered.
If OP only wants to TT coverage I would recommend calling Foremost.
