Passport GT 2704rk

We are looking at a 2023 2704RK. A little worried that we are going to 32 feet. Currently have a 24 foot hybrid. Please let me know what you think about this model. Thanks!

At 32', it's not "all about the trailer" but rather having the proper tow vehicle becomes a much more significant consideration. That said, any (and that means all of them) rear kitchen travel trailer will have a rougher riding kitchen. Glasses, food, even spices in jars are subject to damage or breakage. My DW has learned over the years to NEVER (ever) open a kitchen cabinet door after towing without first preparing for a "flood of stuff to fall on her head".....

We upgraded to the 2704RK from a Coachman Clipper 21RD. The Clipper was 26' ball to bumper. We have been on a dozen trips now and in terms of how it tows, turns, etc, I have noticed zero difference with the extra six feet behind me. I did however notice a difference in how it tows with our half ton, so we are picking up our new full ton truck in two weeks...

You'll love the 2704RK - the lay out is perfect for a couple and two (small) dogs in my opinion. The outdoor kitchenette fits our needs perfectly. Tons of storage and the bathroom is roomy. About the only thing that annoys me about it is the placement of the water heater, but that's nitpicky on my part.

^ Also this....his first sentence is extremely important. I thought the Sierra would be fine, and on "easy" roads it is, but we are literally right at the limits of what it can pull and I'm uncomfortable there. So we've limited our trips to close, minimal grades, and no water in the fresh tank...if you're pulling with a half ton, I would highly recommend you upgrade your truck as well.

Bought it! Love it! I do have a curious question. There is an on/off switch right below the stabilizer switches (same compartment as the water inlets). I can’t figure out what it controls.

Turns on little lights over your stabilizers so you can see when setting up in the dark.

Next question: When we received the trailer, the battery disconnect had been removed and jumped. The dealer sent us a new complete box to replace the previous one. It has the red battery disconnect and a plug on the other end. We have the Dragonfly Lithiums. Go ahead and do the switch out?.? Loks easy enough, but I want to make sure I’m doing the righ thing. Thanks!

I would make the dealer do it....that should have been part of the package and they should be responsible for the install...I wouldn't have accepted the camper unless it was complete....

If the trailer has a "Giggy Box" and that is what you're "reinstalling", keep in mind that it's far more than "just a battery cutoff switch"... There are 3,4 or more DC circuit breakers, a battery cutoff, possibly solar connections and potentially the power for the brake "breakaway switch" and the tongue jack...

There will very likely be 6, 8 or even more wires to connect in order to "reinstall the Giggy Box"....

Hopefully, this is NOT what you're trying to accomplish with no knowledge of what connects to what.....

I’ll be taking it back to the dealer. “Dammit, Jim, I’m a doctor, not an electrician!”

I can imagine a complete check of all electrical systems was a tad difficult when you picked it up....

My mistake, thought the gigi box was MIA and thought all the electrical stuff connected through it.

Another question: Are there any 12 volt “cigarette lighter” in this trailer? In case electricity is out,to run an invertor for my CPAP?

I haven't looked at the specs but I haven't seen a cigarette lighter plug in an RV in many, many years so I very highly doubt there is one. As far as that goes, if you lose power run a cord with one of those plugs on it from the batteries to the cpap, just connect it with clips. Back in the day when lots of things used those adapters I had all kinds of them from no cord to cord lengths up to 30' if I recall.

Bought the trailer 2 weeks ago. Towed it home and it is under a carport. I have the factory Dragonfly LifePo4 factory upgrade. Slide out and all 12 volume systems worked well. Went back yesterday and no power. Control panel said no power. Removed batteries and brought home to charge. One battery read full, the other at 50 %. Now charging the low battery. Any ideas? Refrigerator is verified off. Help!
