Safety Recall 10V-594

Just received a recall notice for a defect in the transfer switch. It states that high electrical loads and high ambient temperatures may cause overheating of the lugs on the transfer switch. This can degrade the electrical connections and result in increased resistance and higher temperatures on the metal lugs.

It goes on to say that this condition may result in further degradaiton of the electrical connections, elevated case temperature and increased risk of appliance and other property damage.

I'll be going to the dealer after the first of the year to have it fixed.

Agent 405:
Is this safety recall one that has been issued by Keystone; and if so, does it pertain to your 2010 Fuzion 405?

It is a safety recall issued by Keystone for my 2010 Fuzion 405. I want to get it done as soon as possible.

We had just settled in at a campsite this summer. It was about 105 degrees out and about 140 in our trailer. I flipped on the A/C and after a few miniutes it quit working. Everything else was still on so I checked the circuit breakers in the trailer. I found the A/C breaker tripped so I reset it and restarted the A/C. It tripped again after a few miniutes so I left it off. Since the breakers trip when they get hot and it was 140 in the trailer I opened all the doors and windows to cool things down. It cooled to about 105 so I tried the A/C again. It worked fine for the rest of the week and the rest of the summer so I didn't give it a second thought until now.

Festus, I saw a post on Rv.net yesterday. Think this recall is from Keystone, and it applies to all toy haulers with generators. Think it was 2009 and newer model years.

Overheating transfer switch

When I read this post, I didn't realize how widespread this recall could be. Apparently it spreads to all of us who purchased generator-ready RVs. Didn't really mean to double post the same recall . . . guess it really shows that I didn't realize how widespread this problem is until I reread this post.
