Utah Hwys 24 & 12 from I-70 to 89?

Anyone have knowledge of how UT Hwys 24 from I-70 and 12 south to 89 are pulling a 35' fiver! Looks OK from what I can see. Just looking for any info on what to look for - good & bad.

Planning to camp at Frutia and Kodachrome Basin State Park, before heading to Lake Powell. Any info will be appreciated from those of you who might have made the trip, previously!

Both are good two lane roads. We've had our 30' Cougar over both. The only "challenging" part of the road is when you go over Boulder mountain there are some serious switchbacks and a little section called the "Hogs Back" All doable, truckers use the route regularly. When you visit Capitol Reef a very cool day trip is to travel into Cathedral Valley. It's a completely different landscape from the rest of the park.
We think Kodachrome is a great place to stay when visiting Bryce NP. Very pretty in it's own rite but close to Bryce. Would also recommend Red Canyon as well while you're there.

Just what I was looking for! Thanks much for your response. My wife is worried about 'more Mt roads' and, while it appears there will be some, sounds worth the effort. She'll maybe have to play a game on her phone as a distraction! I'm getting to where I don't particularly enjoy switchbacks much either, but sometimes it's just something you gotta do to get the prettiest spots!

Nothing much to excite her between I 70 and Torie/Capitol Reef. Fruita CG is one of my favorites. Now that they are on the reservation system I like it even better. Some very cool slot canyons near Kodachrome if you have an extra day. BTW are you planning for 2019 or this season? I only as because Boulder Mountain can get snow in October and Bryce canyon is at 8,000 ft and a little "chilly" this time of year. Powell is beautiful any time.

We're in Moab right now. Forecast here is for snow above 8,500 this week, with the possibility of snow down to 6,500 if things set up right. Hoping they don't!

We don't have reservations, yet, at either Frutia or Kodachrome yet, so might be a moot point. Will work on that first thing tomorrow! We might pass Frutia for a campsite with hookups, in Torrey, as not sure how long my batteries will run the furnace fan if it's cold. Haven't had to go there yet!

Appreciate the tips on other things to see while in the area. Not sure when/if we'll get back, so hoping to take in quite a little while we're there, just in case! BTW.... Your photos are gorgeous! Hope we can 'git er done'!

If Fruita doesn't work out Wonderland RV park in Torrie will take good care of you. Family run place right at the intersection to go into the park or up to Boulder Mtn. Kodachrome is a State Park and does have sites with hook ups. The best sites don't though
Picture is of our site at Wonderland when we didn't get "lucky" at Fruita.
