Angry Keystone not very helpful

I contacted Keystone to see about getting a Schematic or Diagram of the wiring and other things in my 2016 Keystone cougar 5th wheel. Here is the reply that I got.
Quote:
Good Morning Mr. Bell,

Thank you for contacting Keystone in regards to your 2016 Cougar. I regret to inform you that wiring/plumbing diagrams and schematics are not available due to the rapid changes with our units in manufacturing.

We do recommend contacting your local Keystone/Dutchmen/Crossroads dealer for assistance on repair(s) and or part(s) needed. If you need assistance locating a local dealership, you may utilize our online dealership locator:
For Keystone units: www.keystonerv.com For Dutchmen units: www.dutchmen.com For Crossroads units: www.crossroadsrv.com

If you have further questions or concerns please contact owner relations at (866) 425-4369 Monday-Friday 8 AM-5PM EST or e-mail [email protected]
Needless to say I am not happy with their customer support and customer relations. I wanted to find out about the wiring for a 2nd AC unit without tearing into the ceiling or walls of my 5th wheel to see if the wiring is there. When I had a 2006 Huricane I contacted Thor (Hurricane) and they sent me a schematic and Electric Diagram for my class a Motor home. this was 2 years ago. Don't know why Keystone can't do the same. The owners manual is worthless.

Mel, if you do a search on here for this topic you'll see that it is always answered that there are no schematics available, they are proprietary and not shared, owners can't get them, etc. I believe I've posted these answers at least 4 to 5 times in the last 2 weeks alone. To my knowledge, none of t bug e manufactures have these or share them. When you got those in the past, that was a long time ago and things change. Your best bet is to ask on here for someone who has your model and would know. Good luck.

On every unit I've ever seen it has a sticker on the ceiling by the vent that says it is prepped for a 2nd AC if it is pre wired. The dealer would also be able to tell you if you can't tell.

Mel, everything said above is on the money. There are no schematics for a Mobile Suites, none for and Keystone, and none for Heartlands. Airstream might have schematics, but none for their slideouts.
Edit 5-2-18: I thought someone might catch on to my humor....

In my professional travels I have found Jayco to be the only ones that will send schematics, and even then they aren’t always right.

My 2011 cougar is wired for a second A/C in the front bunkhouse. Next to the vent there is what I call a blank cover. It is a solid cover like you would find on an electrical outlet just without holes. On it there is a sticker stating that the wiring for the second A/C is behind it. I assume, I know that's not usually a good thing, that when it is prewired this is standard.

Smile OK OK enough said

In 50 years of RVing I've had several class A motor homes and have been able to get electrical and plumbing schematics and diagrams for all of them. This is only my 3rd 5th wheel and first Keystone which I purchased used. The manual is useless. Today I dropped the Interior Garnish Trim Ring for the vent on the ceiling in the bedroom. There are a couple of romex wires that go to outlets, but no pigtail or wires that are not attached to something. So as far as I am concerned it is not prepped for a second AC unit. I've decided to install a MaxxFan, There is no provision or extra wire for a 12 volt fan, however the ceiling lite at the foot of the bed is only 6 inches from the vent, so I will tap into it to run the fan when needed. Thanks to everyone who has replied.

If a 50 amp service chances are good. A 30 amp and not going to happen

Agree with Captain John, if it's a 50 Amp its likely prepped for a 2nd AC, in the other hand if it's a 30 Amp no chance.

Op just has to drop the inside vent trim or cover. If wires are there he is good to go. The unit will need the interior shroud as there will probably not be a way to run a wire for a thermostat and controls will be on the shroud.

Smile see op's post #8 in this thread

Please see my post #8 in this thread. I did drop the Vent ring. The 5th wheel is only 30 amp. enough said!

30 amp can be done but the cost is prohibitive.

Jayco was very helpful to me when I asked for stud locations in the walls - they sent me the framing plan for all four sides (3 years ago)!

My '96 Alpenlite had the wiring diagram in the Owner's manual!

If I were to guess it's not that their schematics are a secret, it's that they don't have/use any!! Look at the birds nest of wires, cables, furnace ducts under one, they either have one set made for all models & stuff it in or they get paid by the foot.
On my particular model, reading the Redwood forums, there are no 2 of the same model wired/ plumbed the exact same way.

In-Command

I'm in the same boat with no wiring diagrams and my 5th wheel even has the In-Command system which Keystone brags that the wires are even color coded.
You would think they would have far less customer service calls if they would release the diagrams. I think it speaks volumes about how good or poor a manufacture is.

Wow, keystone actually replied to your query! We have a 2012 Montana we purchased used but got little paperwork with. About 6 months ago I sent a query to Keystone for some info on it but never heard back from them. Assumed that was just normal poor customer service from them. Maybe I’ll try again
