2018 Cougar Questions

Hello all,

We just purchased a new 2018 Cougar Half Ton 30RLS and I have a few questions I was hoping someone could help me out with. This is not our first RV or first fifth wheel but the Cougar has some features in the dump valve/water hookup compartment that I am not familiar with and (in my opinion) are TERRIBLY labeled by Keystone.

There is a valve handle for water heater bypass and another for winterize. The stickers that identify positions make no sense to me. When we purchased the trailer they were in these positions (which I assume is normal since things seemed to work right??): (image 3)

When I move them to the other position, the sticker images seem to differ from the handle. (image 4)

Any insight into these?

Secondly,

There are 3 hose connections in the compartment, trial and error showed that the center one is city water connection (I hope). What are the other two? I am assuming one is winterize and one is black tank flush but these are new to me. (image 2)

Thank you all for any insights!

One on the right is Black tank flush (see note below it) one on the left is FW tank fill... You are correct on the middle one..

Thanks Javi, that makes sense. I didn't realize there was a connection for fresh water tank fill since there is a "gravity" fill in the rear of the RV. Now for the valve positions...

Just bought a 30rls and was wondering the same thing.. so why is there 2 FW fill ports. Seems weird..

Also there are two grey tank valve handles.. is there a reason for 2?

Also on my panel inside where the light switches are located. On the tank level monitoring spot. I have black and grey tank 1 and 2.. does this trailer have separate black and grey tanks.. so confused on some many things with the trailer

You have 2 grey water tanks, so 2 valves.

At least you see both on your RV. We didn't see our second gray tank valve, and took three trips before we found the kitchen grey water tank valve. Live and learn.

Since you have a gravity fill for the FW tank, the third hose connection could be for the anti-freeze siphon.

I also own a new Cougar 30rls and tried to use the fresh water fill in the compartment but it must be valved as the water would not fill. Maybe it is not a fresh water fill. Hopefully someone will know.

Note the above comment from the original poster regarding the fresh water tank fill being at the rear of his RV. Ours is set up that way as well. There is a locking door that covers the gravity fill on our Cougar.
