Pock Marks on RV

I'm so upset, I have no idea what caused this and am hoping someone has seen this before. Also, think it would be ok to cover each of the pock marks with silicone to keep water out until I can get it repaired? Think this is something I could put an insurance claim in? I can only imagine how much this will cost me. It's basically in a straight line from the bottom to the top of the RV.

Do NOT put silicone on the pock marks. Simply run a line of duct (Gorilla maybe) tape down the line until the repair facility can take over. Silicone is almost impossible to remove.

WOW! That's terrible. Almost like a woodpecker attacked it...

I at first thought the same thing as I have a number of woodpeckers in my yard, but I believe it's called Osmotic Blisters??? Trying to figure out if this is something I must get fixed now, or if I can put it off and have it done later.

The most likely cause of the void marks you are seeing in the bonded surface is moisture has gotten in between the bonded skin layer...then if you are in freezing climate moisture freezes up and expands creating void marks.. those are at rivet heads..

I’ve had two basement cargo access doors do exactly the same thing 3 years apart... moisture got in between the upper hinge and mount attachment strip and the rest was history

How do they go about fixing it?

Originally Keystone declined any repair stating it was “cosmetic”. I raised Cain and so then dealership remove one door and had it repaired locally. That lasted for 6 months then voids returned... of course

In the end ... with several calls to Keystone they replaced both doors with new ones.

Also.. to prevent like occurrence again i applied sealant to the upper hinge strip where it attaches to the baggage door to prevent water from intruding down inside and collecting

No further issues.

Mine is located on the rear section of the unit, drivers side. All in a straight line, approximately 20 blister marks. I'm so upset. This is not something that should be happening to a unit 3 years old.
