Auto Leveling System

We’ve had trouble since day one with our auto level system. It’s been in service three times, 2018 Cougar, I was told by service man at Camping World that the blister bubble behind the pad is over sensitive and my husband would have to adjust the way he uses it. He and another service person had trouble getting the stabilizer legs up when I picked it up Thursdsy. First i was told my electrical outlet had a blown fuse, then that the blister pad was extremely sensitive. I left with it anyway thinking I would use the blister pad instead of my husband. We took it to our campsite and the auto level didn’t work AGAIN! Has anyone had this reoccurring problem and what did you do about!

First off Welcome to the forum

Secondly: you shouldn't have left the dealership with a non operating touch pad. They are universal and the service person should have swapped it out with another one and then ordered a replacement. These type of posts get under my skin and just point out the fact that there are some LOUSY dealers out there.

Anyway, sorry for the rant...Lets address your issue. Is the leveling system electric (ground control 3.0) or hydraulic (level up) and is it ted to any remote like One control or InCommand?

Pretty sure it’s ground control,!as far as I know it’s not tied to our remote. Remote works lights and slides.

From what your saying I'm pretty sure you need to replace your touch pad. The touch pads are made to be user friendly, the service guys are just blowing smoke. A sensitive touch pad is a bad touch bad. I had to replace mine and it's real simple to do.
Not knowing make your leveling system. Our is made by Lippert, Lippert has a good customer service that you can talk. You might want to call who ever makes yours leveling system and has a conversation with them.

Auto leveling

I’m pretty sure it’s Lippert. I’ll contact them.

It should be the Lippert 3.0 on the Cougar. One thing you can try is disconnecting power for about a minute from the control module. (normally mounted to the ceiling in the pass through). That will reset the system. Sometimes that will take care of problems.

If under warranty just get another touch pad!

Is it the level up, if so, the touch pad is simple to replace.

That's when it's time to escalate the issue to the general manager and if that doesn't get them moving give corporate a call and explain your issue in a calm manner. Verbally abusing or threatening to "get a lawyer" will not get results. If that doesn't work often times contacting the Better Business Bureau and filing a complaint will. As for the "sensitive touchpad" my response would be well, then replace it one that's less sensitive. YMMV
