Capital Grill, use it or remove it?

Happy Thanksgiving everybody. We recently purchased a 2019 Cougar 26RBSWE. It came with a small outside kitchen which consisted of a small refrigerator and a Capital Grill. I plan on removing the fridge and use that area for additional outside storage. My questions concerns the Grill itself. It seems to be a low end set up first of all and I question its abilities. Further and more importantly it looks difficult to keep clean. I'm concerned with potential odors in the coach due to the Grill. I also am concerned that it will attract pests from ants to raccoons. I have considered removing this Grill and replace it with our Weber camp Grill. The Weber is removable and I can cook anywhere in camp. I can also effectively clean it and store it in a tote. What are your opinions about this Grill and have I judged it wrongly. Thank you in advance for any positive and productive input.

We have the Capitol Grill in our 2019 29BHS and it is mounted in the wood, so we still have the recall that needs to be applied. We have used the grill a couple of times and you are right. It is hard to clean and a bit of a pain to use. I bought an electric griddle and use it on top of the grill and it works well.

wobbly, thank you for your reply. I too thought of using it a a griddle. What recall do you speak of?

When the Capital Grill was first being installed, Keystone was installing them in a shelf/cutout built of wood. That apparently did not provide sufficient clearance from heat sources, so they re-designed the shelf to be made of metal. This eliminated the "fire hazard" but did not do anything for the units already in the field. So a recall was initiated. You can read the recall notification letter here: https://www.keystonerv.com/media/914...recall-web.pdf

Chances are your dealer has already done the recall on your trailer (if it is new) or it was not a part of the recall. Just look at your grill installation. If it's mounted in wood, then you need to do more checking and contact your dealer. If it's mounted in metal, the recall doesn't apply to your trailer.
