control panel

just used by 2018 cougar ht 32rli for the second time.getting ready to leave campground, unplugged shore power, emptied waste tanks, went back in to check gauges on tanks, noting on my control panel would work except the slides.now i know from previous trailers that the lights, gauges and awning
will work.question is,is it possible that only part of the control board would go
bad.
any suggestions would be helpful

Kind of confused, are you saying everything works except the monitor panel (tanks and battery)? There is a harness that plugs into the monitor panel on the back side. It’s possible it came loose.

Chuckster, when I have only battery power, the only thing that works on the control panel are the 3 slides.
The battery, black and grey tank gauges do not work, nor do the interior lights, water pump, awning nor porch lights

Sounds like a blown fuse somewhere. The slides will be powered from separate circuits. The monitor panel will probably be powered by the same 12V feed as the lights and such. Remove the panel and start testing for 12V. I’m thinking the 12V feed came off a connection as it’s very common to “daisy chain” lights and such since their total amp draw usually less than 20amps.

I wonder if the battery cutoff switch is in the off position? Usually, the slides, landing gear/stabilizer jacks will work, but most of the lights, etc are not powered. The cutoff switch is really a "almost cutoff switch" since some items in the trailer must remain functional regardless of the switch position. So, you might want to check that "big red switch/key" located up front, somewhere near the battery.

If everything works okay on shore power, ie converter providing 12VDC, Then I second checking your battery disconnect switch if you have one. When not on shore power, id that switch is not in the correct position, your battery will not be connected to the power distribution panel.

I wonder if possibly the cutoff switch is wired backwards? Off is on and on is off ???? Stranger things have happened. If that isn't the problem, then, there are two DC circuit breakers that are tied together, directly off the battery. One is "before the cutoff switch" and powers the slides/jacks and "always on equipment". The other circuit breaker is tied through the cutoff switch and controls the lights, water pump, refrigerator, etc. There may be a loose connection on that breaker or it may be defective. Just a wild guess.

Those two circuit breakers are located on the forward bulkhead under the front of your trailer. Follow the positive battery cable and it will take you to the first circuit breaker. You'll find a jumper from that terminal over to the cutoff switch and then back to the second breaker.

Are you still in warranty? If so and if you can't locate the problem pretty quickly, I'd contact the dealer for help.

Check the cutoff. Mine quit when showing on. I had to manually switch it back and forth to make it work. Replaced it with a new switch from Tractor Supply.

Glad you got your problem solved. It's always nice to find that nothing mechanical has failed and things are working again. Thanks for getting back to us with your findings.
