This was about a 15 minute switch-out from the original door handle. This one extends out another 10-inches & extended downward another 15-inches. It will make a huge difference for the grandkids. Oh and a remarkable difference for us as well.... I highly recommend if your "wagon" didn't come with already.

Found a rectangular stone for the oven. At 15x14" it is an exact fit to the bottom plate which means that venting around the stone will not happen well. Thinking about sanding down or cutting the stone down to about 15x13". Until that time, the 13" round stone will be in place for a little longer.

I finally decided to dewinterize, which went smoothly. I also replaced my single step with a double. The dealer said it would bolt right up and it did, no drilling, but it took some fiddling to figure out which holes to use. It mounted lower and further in than the original.

We decided to try a mobile detailer this year. Washed roof, washed and waxed truck and trailer. I don’t get credit for the work but I guess I get credit for hiring them?

Finally!
The temp got out of the 30s-40s (actually got to 63) and I did a few small things.
- Added a magnetic door stop to the bedroom door that swings when we are a bit off level.
- Added a Canco petc0ck drain to the HW heater
- Measured the wall for a handrail going up the stairs - found out not much in the way of studs in that wall
- Dragged out tools to replace the wrong length springs installed last year. They work ok but the equalizer shackle is at an incorrect angle

- Today - get it jacked up and at least on the stands for the underneath work - all springs, two more MORryde X factor cross members and repair a piece of road damaged hydraulic brake line along with checking the bearings

Got the kitchen floor LEDs wired up and lit.

I had to replace the stock outside patio speakers a few back. The new Sony grills were smaller than the old Sony grills. Same size speaker. So the caulk ring was left on the RV. I used GooGone Gel and it worked great.....along with a nylon scraper tool. Then I recaulked the new speakers and grill.

Part ll

1Added more lights and outlets.
2Repositioned toilet . Was facing shower .
New angle is much more comfortable
3 Removed the shower 3 piece glass and added a curved shower curtain rod. Much more spacious.
4 added led lighting above tv.
5 removed the Provider brand tires and had Discount Tire install the new Sailun tires.
6 added the Stromberg extended hand rail
7 adjusted entry steps to next notch higher. Makes it easier stepping out. First step out was too low.
8 purchased pex clamp tool, cutter, clamps ,and extra tube for emergencies.

Sorry rest of pictures don't fit..
To continue..

They probably aren't ladybugs, but a new "invasive species" that is much more problematic. Asian "Lady beetles". https://entomology.ca.uky.edu/ef416

If they were in your trailer "by the dozens" this year, chances are they'll be there "by the thousands" next year.

I know they are not really lady bugs, but not many people know the real name for them. But they are pests.
The 2nd day, found about 2 dozen more.

If you park your RV in the same location next fall, chances are very good that you'll have significantly more to invade "your space" than you had this year. They multiply during the summer and look for a "warm, light location" to spend the winter. So, that "million" this year will likely be 5 or 6 million next year and those that find their way inside will increase based on the sheer numbers looking for a spot to winter.

Do your homework, seal all entries to your RV, insecticide sprayed on the walls, moldings, underpinning and any access door/window. If you're going to park in the same location, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.....

Doing the little jobs

On our 1 1/2 month old 333MKS, I've installed the Camco vent covers on the two front vents, installed the Progressive EMS (Electrical Management System?), fixed the one basement door latch as it wasn't holding the door shut, and changed out the lock to our unique keyed lockset we bought for our previous RV and kept for this new one, and of course dewinterized!

We are planning for going out for our third trip already this year! The joy of being retired!

Another great day yesterday - mid 60s - and got the correct length springs installed along with a new wet bolt kit, replacing the worn out pieces - oh yes, they do they wear out, evne with grease drooling out of them. Just have to finish torquing the fasteners then I can repair the damaged brake line (1 or 2) and we will be ready to wander. Unfortunately the rains moved in last night and it will be at least Friday before I can get back to it so I'll do some wookwork - make up the stair hand rail for the stairway and make a spice box for my DW

Friday, 27 Apr update - Still waiting for better weather but the woodworking is progressing with the spice box made and the railing done with both about ready to stain. I'll take some photos when they are installed. I will be replacing some of my disc brake lines though with Kodiak flex lines. I'm not in 'love' with these flex lines but we are running out of time for me to run hard lines again with other spring chores needing to be done......

Since my Outback did not come from factory with a vent for the stove hood, I cut a square hole directly behind the stove hood and installed a hood louver. Made a plenum between the inside wall and back of stove hood (seal with aluminum tape). Had to make a few mods to close off the original air outlets, and remove the back plate to connect to the plenum. That was a pain the horse! I used a stud finder to make sure there was not a metal stud before cutting. Quickly discovered there is a thin (but very strong) sheet of metal backing which I assume is to support the cabinets. Luckily it was only about 1/4" of the bottom. Finally, I can bake in the oven without heating the whole trailer now.

Sorry, no pics. I just wanted to get that project over with.

Washed the outside and removed all the black streaks with LA's Totally Awesome cleaner. In a few weeks, I plan to wash again, wax, and winterize.
Hi folks,

First off, thanks CamperDave for the feedback on LA Totally Awesome.

Doing my spring cleaning of the Laredo, and I have some black streaking going on. I see that Camper Dave has used LA Totally Awesome for removing black streaks. Also I see several on Youtube using same product, but on aluminum sides. The product seems to very effective at removing those dreaded black streaks.

Very inexpensive at $1 a bottle at Dollar Store (Dollar General). Seems to good to be true in lieu of the expensive black streak removing products. I am concerned that it may be too harsh for the FILON sides.

Anyone else have any experience with this product, LA Totally Awesome? Seems very effective, but it is safe to use on FILON???

Thanks for any feedback,
Mike

Stu, that's getting a little old.

Glad you got the trim installed and it makes you happy. You should post a picture as it may help someone else out. Great ideas are meant to be shared.

Our RV has full crown molding from factory. And in the bathroom the floor walls around the toilet has small angle trim down there.......but the other 2 bathroom floor walls has none. Either they forgot and most won't notice (yet I do) or they decided 16" more total floor wall trim was over-budget. Lol
