First, thank you all so much for the warm welcome.
You all bring up a good point about towing capacity. I asked mom about this and she gave me some info. on the truck and trailer weights. The truck dealer and the RV dealer both "said" that the truck would be big enough to pull that rv....but I'd love to get a few more opinions.....here's what we've got.
The Truck is an F-150 SuperCab Std. Bed 2WD with an Ecoboost 3.5L V-6 (Turbocharged) With the Towing package and 3.73 axle ratio, the truck should be rated to pull 11,300 lbs.
The Sydney Outback 283FRE's Dry weight is 7450 lbs, Payload capacity is 2050 lbs, and Hitch is 1280. For a grand total of 10780. Since that was under the 11300, we assumed it would be okay. Do you guys think otherwise? Do you think we may have trouble in mountains?
I ask about the mountains only because i'm curious...chances are- that the truck and trailer will never go up north to be realistic, just because none of us have enough vacation time to travel that far north and mom won't travel without us. This rig will probably just be used a few times per year (mostly in Texas, LA, AR)-But I'd still be curious to see what ya'll think-if we did go by some chance.
Thanks-
