Power tongue jack.

I looked at all the forum headings and I don't know where to put this question.

For Christmas my lovely wife is buying me a power tongue jack.
But which one? The TT is in storage so I don't know sizes and what load rating do I need?

Any real world experience would be appreciated.

Re: Power tongue jack.

I second the Husky Brute line. In your case, if you want to save a few dollars and aren't in need of the remote option with your smaller trailer, the 3000 lb model will be more than adequate. I had this one installed on my Bullet the day I took delivery. It will lift the rear end of my nearly 6K lb Yukon XL while attached. Btw, most electric tongue jacks are universal to A frame trailers. Just 3 anchor bolts and 2 lead wires (positive and ground) to connect. Easy peasy.

Re: Power tongue jack.

Big Horn would be another one to consider. Great reviews and has all features except remote control.

Re: Power tongue jack.

My trailer has a scale weight of 6,100 un-attached and 5,500 attached. Trailer purchased from Curtis Trailer, asked them what I should use for power jack, Atwood was recommended at 2,500Lb rating. Purchased 3/10/2014 and I installed. Unit is 80515 Deluxe Power Jack paid $250. Unit has light and handle if no power. Have had no problems and use jack to lift truck and trailer to set Spring Bars, light is LED. Installed myself in about 1/2 hour, easy.

Re: Power tongue jack.

I have a Jack quick 3500 and it works well. I've heard nothing but good about The Husky Brutes. Check the reviews and go for it.

Re: Power tongue jack.

Jack quick 3500 here also. I believe these have two options, a 7 pin cable to go directly to your tv plug or a unit that you wire to your battery. I suggest the latter which is what I opted for as you don't need your tv to operate.

Re: Power tongue jack.

X3 on the Husky Brute 4500 lb jack. I didn't bother with the remote. Fantastic jack!

X2 on this jack! Love the remote, back up, lower jack, pull forward to set ball, apply parking brake and exit truck to latch. Of course back up camera helps. Remote is also handy to set front to back level while standing on the side looking at bubble level.
FWIW - when it comes to capacity bigger is better.

I emailed the folks at eTrailer for suggestions.
Charles suggest the Stromberg Carlson Electric Trailer Jack # JET-3755.
With my TT and SUV weights I really don't need a 3500 lb.
Tongue weigth of the TT is ~ 500 lbs. plus lifting the back of the SUV to install the load leveling bars, 2500 should do it but the 3500 will be less stressed and more extension and it's only $12.00 more.

Looking at the video I think it's a little slow lifting or are all power jacks about the same?
Anyone have this model and how do you like it.
