First Modification on Bullet TV Bracket PICS Just added Page 2
Hello to all on this forum. I've been reading and learning so much about RV's on this site. It is awesome. We are ready to go on our first weekend trip this Thursday in our new Bullet 248 RKS. We have been using it parked in the yard, getting use to it and running/checking out all the systems. Everything is good. The TV mount didn't tilt so I ordered a mount from MONOPRICE. com: Adjustable Tilting Wall mount bracket MHT-26(T). Around $5.($11 for shipping, ouch!) Still, not that bad. I removed the existing flat TV mount from the trailer, marked it, drilled three holes in it(one hole lined up) and mounting the new tilt plate to it using stopper nuts with the plastic inserts. Very easy job. What a difference the 15 degree tilt down makes in the picture quality, not to mention it's easier on your neck. I locked it in at this angle and will leave it. For travel, the strap still reaches around it. To protect the edge of the TV from any possible movement against the wooden cabinet during travel, I cut a piece of 1/2" foam pipe insulation and slipped it on the edge of the TV. Perfect fit. I ordered a topper for the slideout and that will be installed at the dealer in a couple of weeks. If there are any issues with the new trailer, I'll address them at that time. Wish me luck on our first trip!! Oh yes, I forgot: I also mounted two aero-flo roof mount covers! Nice!!

We have a 248RKS as well and the first mod we did was replacing the tv mount with one that tilts and moves. Makes all the difference for sure. We replaced the tv with a larger smart tv from Vizio a couple weeks later and will mount the old one in the bedroom as soon as I find a mount I like.

Try Monoprice.com for a mount. They have great prices. The one I bought is made of steel, very sturdy!!

Do you have any pics of your new bigger tv? And what size did you go with? I am in the process of buying a 248rks and I know the DW will want a bigger tv in the living area.

I don't have any photos with me. I'll try to get some the next time we're up at the RV. It's about 5 hours away from home but we're going up there for the 4th. Check back...

will do... Thanks. Do you know what size you went with. I am thinking a 32" might work.

OK you guys!! I have the new tilt mount and was planning to take out the TV and drill the holes but now you have me thinking about a bigger TV too! I didn't think a larger one would fit with the cabinet sticking out on the right. If anyone has had any luck--please let me know.

Larger TV
I think a larger TV there would work. You wouldn't have to push it in flat against the wall for travel. Put a piece of pipe insulation on the right edge and push that side into the edge of the stereo cabinet. The other side of the TV should be pushed against the wall. ( Another piece of pipe insulation or a sticky felt pad on the TV at the contact point against the wall to prevent any scratches). Then adjust the travel strap to secure it. If it's not long enough, remove and add a longer strap. I just added a second TV in the sleeping area. A 24" Insignia with built in DVD player. On sale at Best Buy internet only, free shipping!. Install was a snap. Again, I ordered the mount from Monoprice.com. If you need the part number let me know, I'll look it up and post in. Also just installed extra shelves in the bedroom closets and bathroom closet. 3/16 MDF board from Home Depot using pre-finished moulding for the rails, 3/4" wood screws. No problems. Loving this trailer so far.I did remove the bumper mounted grill. Didn't like the location for grilling right next to the entry door.

The TV up front is a 24" Vizio that came with the trailer. Just got back from camping in Ct. this weekend. Arthur tried to ruin the Fourth, but we all had a great time despite the rain!!

Actually, I did remember to grab a couple pictures. Just moving them from my phone right now as I sit in the airport-bear with me.
Sorry about the snake-nest, I haven't had a chance to really tighten things up, been pretty busy. Hope you get the idea. The tv is a Visio 27" Smart tv and we think its a great addition to our coach. I know the mount is crooked but we really wanted our son to be able to see the tv from the foldout couch. He's a tv freek like me! It works. For travel I just kind of wedge it in the corner and secure the mount with the strap. I'll be bringing the rv back down next weekend so I'll really have to make sure its all set to go. Probably get some of the pipe insulation as suggested.
