Fuzion 342 - Reese Goose Box

Hi All!

I just picked up a new-to-me Ford F450. It came with a B&W turnover ball gooseneck setup. Would you guys recommend changing out the fifth wheel setup on the fuzion to the Reese Goose Box or just purchase the Companion 5th wheel hitch. They both seem to be about the same price - it just seems that the gooseneck is rated at a higher capacity.

Thanks!
Matt

This is the 5th wheel I use its a Hi-Rise- Draw Tite (the good thing is you can use your gooseneck hitch or your 5th wheel ,the best of both worlds)We have pulled our Raptor over 8700miles with no problems.Jusyt my 2 cents.

I have a Reese goosebox. I chose that route to keep my bed clean and clear, same price as another hitch and no more holes in my bed. Not to mention the air ride was an extra for the same price. I'm very satisfied with my purchase. If I was to sell my camper. I would swap the goosebox to the original pin box and keep the goosebox for the new camper.

Thats why I picked mine was to have a multi use bed ,regular bed, gooseneck trailer hook up or 5th wheel ,easy as heck loosen 2 bolts pull gooseneck release under bed and go from 5th wheel to gooseneck or to nothing at all

I have the BW 5th wheel hitch with my 2012 450 and my Fuzion 342. Works great and easy to take on and off if you use the bed of the truck. I think it is rated at 20k as well.

B&W all the way. Made in the USA and customer support is second to none. Get B&W Companion hitch 18K load. You will love it. The last hitch you'll ever buy.

Here is my Companion Slider. With a 450 8' bed you will not need a slider, just a regular Companion.

Hey Vbortch,

What kind of cover do you have installed on your bed? Is it a sliding cover??

Thx!

Not sliding. BAK Flip G2, made by BAK Industries. Folds 3 times (total of 4 sections on 6.5' bed). I love the cover. Keeps out 99.9% of the water and it was 25 min to install by myself. Also covers my hitch, so it is not exposed to the elements. I really like the low profile look of it.
