Aline 3800fk shower drain

I have a 2018 Alpine 3800fk. The shower drains into the black tank, as opposed to the gray tank. I have called Keystone and have been told my model should not do this, however, in removing the kick panel below the shower, and visually inspecting the drain system, it is designed to drain into the black tank. Can anyone explain why they would do this???

Looks like a warranty issue that needs to be fixed. Someone screwed up!

You are aware that on most rigs, all the waste tanks are black? That being said, are you sure the tank drain valves are correctly labeled? There have been quite a few instances where the pulls are labeled opposite from what they really are.

We bought our a 2018 Alpine 3701 in May this year and our labels were opposite from what they should have been. So, check that first. Our valves were "originally" labeled: black black grey grey. They "should have been labeled" BLACK GREY GREY BLACK. Maybe yours is the same as ours is?

Mine was piped the same way. I found it when my granddaughter was taking a shower and it started backing up in the shower. Keystone changed it under warranty but said some of their units were piped like that on purpose. I told them that it was unacceptable and they repaired it.

I agree that most waste tanks are black in color, but most are not "black" tanks, only those that have a toilet connected are considered "black" tanks, whether sinks/showers are plumbed into them or not.
Your kitchen/bathroom sink or shower may drain into a black colored tank, but are still considered "grey" tanks.
I would also suspect that by any coincidence that the grey tank may have a grey handle or that the black may have a black handle was not in any way intentional by the folks at the factory, but purely coincidental & dependent on which pile/box of valves they grabbed out of at the moment.

Assuming that you as well as the company representative are correct, you need to get to the dealer and get this corrected...like now.

there are some trailer where the grey and black waters are run into the same tank.
