Cougar 318SAB Chair replacement

I have a Cougar 318SAB and I want to replace the 2 cheap rocking chairs with recliners. I think that La-Z-Boy has the only chair that the back comes off so I can get it through the door. My question is if anybody here has replaced the chairs with recliners and what size did you get so they fit through the door.
Thanks, Mike

I dunno but we replaced the stupid couch with a 2 recliner love seat with a storage thingy and 2 cupholders. Yeah its a tight fit at the table but we don't eat at the table. Piece a cake getting it in the camper and removing the old sofa.

Hate those chairs too. I think most of your furniture these days the backs come off. Our love seat did.

There a quite a number of reclining/ rocking chairs that have a removable back - not just La-Z-Boy.

We bought a couple of 'Best Recliners' to replace ours. Many styles and sizes to choose from and the backs come off easily. If you stay away from the rocker/swivel units you can get wall-away action.

I have the exact same fifth wheel and have been looking for the same thing for a year. I never thought about needing to take the back off....thanks! I was more concerned with the dimensions of the back of the chair so that they will ride on the couch. I hope we find something..good luck

We have a motana3625RE and we also hated the funiture which qas two leather recliners and an L- shaped pull-out couch(love seat) We found that is fully extended we could get quite a large rocker recliner in even with our kitcher island in frount of the entryway door.
Also went to Sams club and bought a daybed/futon which I put together inthe RV and now we enjoy a full size couch that doubles as a bed for two.
Just have to think outside the BOX.

I did replace the chairs with 2 Euro type that are very comfortable with an ottoman and the fit very well. I had looked at some recliners at Lay z Boy but I can not see paying over a G for two chairs that we only use about 30 days a year. Thanks for all your replys and if I can figure how to post some pics I will.

I don't put the chairs on the couch anymore they fit between the entertainment center and the couch.

Euro Chairs

Where did you purchase your chairs. We are removing our couch in a 2005 Cougar 244 and want to replace them with chairs like the ones you have.

Mike and all- Please help explain how you get the recliners lined up to store in between the entertainment center and the couch. I can get one in there but not the second. I wind up with the second chair flipped over, leaning on the couch and the base bumping up near the fireplace???

Previously I would flip them both over on the couch-- base pointing upwards, with a lot of pressure on the backs.

Surely there has to be another (better) way to store these monsters.

After doing all those chair somersaults , I take 10 Celebrex tablets and make 5 trips to the Chiropractor--- then we can be free to travel.

I put one of my chairs under the computer table next to the TV......some units don't have that but mine does. The other one fits right in front of the TV but more towards the kitchen counter. You have to be careful moving the slideout in and out as the carpet sometimes bunches up when it hits the chair.
