Newbie and Nervous Part II

Thanks to everyone that responded to my initial post, although I had misgivings about making this purchase, in reading your posts, I feel it is a lifestyle choice. Unlike many of my hobbies and passions, this one promotes quality time together as a family!!

We took delivery of our Bullet 281BHS on saturday! I had of course downloaded and read the PDI checklist others have mentioned....I was going to be ready for the dealership!

I promptley forgot to bring it with me, although I had given a copy to my dealer a few days before the inspection.

The walk through went OK, but I did end up forgetting some things to ask and be demonstrated to me...but I was trying to stay positive and not focus on the negative.

The drive home with the unit was similar to driving my daughter home from the hospital, but uneventfull.

Now she is in our driveway and we have spent 2 full days filling it with the stuff we think we need to use it, as we are leaving on thursday for 11 days. I can't believe how much stuff we are putting in there

I have found a few checklists for arriving, departing, and setting up of the trailer, and am working on customizing for us to take with us....

We have 4 nights reserved (2 on the way down to WV and 2 on the way back) at the Alum Creek State Park near Dayton, OH. Anyone with tips for that area, please let me know!!

Anyway, we are exhausted but excited about starting our RV adventure, plan to keep a journal to record the triumphs and defeats......

Promise I will send pics of rig and family out in the wildes, thanks again!!!

I want pics of the inside and of course the outside........but the inside! If you are like us, you load too much and then take it out and some you wish you would have left in. It is a camping dance that is quite enjoyable (frustrating, but it makes you shake your head).

Glad you are having fun with the loading LOL. Yes as Azlee 56 says it is a dance of sorts. I know everytime we take a trip I always have re-organization ideas. I think for awhile it is a work in progress. My husband just waits to see what I decide and then tries to help. LOL. You have to remember it is your home away from home and better than a hotel. You will get it figured out. When we bought our first camper my Dad, so wisely, said take a trip close to home to see how everythings works so if you forgot something or something doesn't work you can run back to the house to get what you need. Luckly we only needed to go to a Kmart to get fun stuff like lights for the awning and table cloth for the picnic table. Just remember the most important thing is to have fun. Don't sweat the small stuff. Have fun on your trip.
