Only 565 mile range? I love having a 1,000+ mile range when filled up. Of course that adds the nearly 1,000 lbs of fuel that I have to carry. It's nice having a dually

Although the price for the titan is a little steep, that may be a viable option as well.
It's always good to hear that someone is actually asking for info/advice BEFORE they buy or install something instead of coming on the forum and asking for advice on how to correct their mistake/bad decision. Good luck with getting this sorted out.

Between the 37.5 gallon OEM tank, and my 42 gallon aux tank, when I leave the house I've got right at 70 gallons of diesel. No payload capacity problems with the dually.

My bladder only lasts 200mi in the first place

That is a good point for those considering an aftermarket or auxiliary tank setup, be sure to take bed length into consideration (such as the dually's with 8ft beds). For those of us handicapped by a short bed, that space is far to precious to fill with a bed mounted tank (IMHO).

I would like to fill that space even with 25 gallon. Problem is finding a tank that will fit below the truck rails ~ including filler cap ~~ and between the front of the bed and hitch rail.

My ATTA wedge is 65 gallons, would fit even in a short bed and fits under my tonneau cover.

You could always 'move up' to a long bed. A Ford LB has an approximate tank size of 38 gallons vs the SB ~28 gallon capacity. But then you have that drawback in losing load capacity, especially an F250. Mine is probably close to overweight before the 5er is hooked on according to that insurance company/DOT required yellow 'B' pillar sticker but by actual suspension part numbers - is in the middle/top end of an an F350 SRW (or 12,100 pounds). So, at 102,000 miles, and about 25% of it pulling a 12K 5th wheel, I've stopped worrying about any forum's 'weight police' or, for that matter, any state's as well. There is that now long gone F350/V10 SB I had, which had plenty of load capacity but you had to plan the next stop while pulling out of a gas stop with a 13+ foot tall, 8 foot wide, 35-38 foot long trailer that wouldn't fit the corner station. Be smart about what you add in that truck for an aux or larger below bed tank. Diesel fuel weighs in the neighborhood of 7#/gallon plus the tank and transfer components weight.

I have a 350 and weight could become a problem. For that reason I'd prefer 25-35 gallon.

The new ones offer a 48gal tank capacity

Replaced the factory 26 gallon with a Titian 50 gallon and have been all smiles ever since. Titian was more expensive but worth every $1 over the others in my opinion.

Even 2017 short beds have a bigger tank. Sadly I bought a 2016. Whoever thought a small tank on a 1 ton diesel truck was a good idea is an idiot.

I added a 60 gallon gravity fed tank. I moved my tool box out far enough to mount the tank behind it. I needed my full size box. As others have mentioned it helps to have the added capacity of a dually. I now have a driving range that exceeds my sitting range. It really helps being able to refuel after stopping and unhooking.

I run with the valve shut until I get less than half a tank and then open the valve. When I stop the stock tank is usually just about full and I shutoff the valve. Top both off at refuel and start all over. I forgot once to close valve after I stopped, but I did not have any fuel venting as others have reported. It is my intention to shut it every time, better safe than sorry. Good luck.

One of these would work as far as good number of gallons, and still fitting below the bed rails. FWIW.

It can be done,... I bought this tank at TSC and had a 1/4 inch pipe bung welded in before it had the first drop of fuel in it. (lower left corner) It ties into my filler hose and gravity feeds the main tank. Right now I have to get out and turn that valve on but an electric valve is on the way. This tank is 37 gallons full and the cap does clear the bed rails but the lift rings don't but do clear with my bed cover on.

I replaced the puny OEM 26 gallon diesel tank with a Titan 50 and couldn't be happier. It's nice going down the road and not needing to fill every couple hundred miles or so. No, it wasn't cheap but well worth the money.
