2017 Montana - Several questions

Hi.

Awnings with LED lighting - can you turn off/on the lights?

What type of sink "covers" are included? Our current Montana has both granite and plastic. I use the plastic ones as the granite are too heavy for me to deal with. I like to keep one side covered with stray dirty dishes.

We are looking to determine the exterior colors, particularly the trim, for the 2017 Montana 3710RL, Legacy Edition. We have not seen a Legacy in person and need to determine if the paint trim is brown, black or something else. It may be that all the 2017 Montana trim is the same.

Many thanks for your time!

Robin

You can call Keystone prospective owners line and they may be able to help you. The number is on line. Hope all goes well with your future upgrade.

Don't know about the LED awning lights, and I don't really care for them anyway. Rather have a campfire to sit around. I do believe there's a switch for them though.

Don't think you've granite counter top or sink covers - they're Corian or something like it. Not bad, but don't put anything really hot on it as they'll melt. As to the white ones, one's supposed to be a cutting board and the slotted one a dish drain (not that useful, but I guess someone needed a selling gimmick).

Any darker colors will be problematic in hot weather and no shade. The darker, the worse it is according to many who've posted on the Montana Owner's Club forum - a few have even installed third AC units.

The LED awning lights are switched via the in-command system (if you have that) or manual switches.

Sink covers, as Walt described, are Corian as are the counter tops. My 2017 has solid sink covers with a hand hold to remove them.

The Montana web site at www.keystonerv.com/montana will show you the paint scheme options for the Legacy option.

One more thing about the Legacy package on the Montana line up, you are able to get the package with or with out the full body paint. Just bear in mind that the Legacy package will add another $4000 (more or less) and the paint job will add about $7000 (more or less) on top of that. I just recently went though a few dealerships pricing as I just bought a 2017 Montana 3731fl. Essentially the final sale price was $57,200 for the standard model, about $62,000 for the Legacy with no paint, and finally about $70,000 for the Legacy with paint.

One other thing is that it's significantly harder to find a legacy package equipped Montana, whether painted or not, because they don't make as many of them.

Like someone in the earlier replies, the paint schemes they do offer are darker in color and thus it increases the heat gain of the rv. I don't know how much of a difference it makes in reality, but it's something to consider.

I set out to find a painted Montana with the Legacy package myself, they're very nice, and paint stands the test of time for sure compared to gel cost and decals, but the price difference plus the availability really made me choose the standard model. I looked at all three versions in person and I can tell you on the inside, they all look exactly the same.
