Memory Foam Pad Matress Mod
Montana High Country 2011: This weekend, my wife and I added a Memory Foam Pad to our Queen-size mattress. I can tell you with certainty (after just one night) that it made a huge improvement in comfort level; and we actually enjoyed the bed before the addition. Now, we will not be without it on our trips.

We bought one last year and it is worth the money paid.

memory foam
We did the same thing except we had a whole mattress made for us and it has been worth the money. We went to an independent mattress maker and had it made, it cost us less than half of the price of a new one from the store. Good Camping

Memory Foam Thickness
We started out with a 1 1/2 inch thickness because we didn't want to sink into it. This thickness worked out fine so far.

Memory foam is the way to go on top of a OEM mattress. We bought ours off EBay and saved 50%. (blem, 2" thick and 5.5lb. density) The denisty factor is as importaint as the thickness. LINK

We have been using a memory foam topper for the last 5 - 6 years and would not do without it. The last one we bought, Sam's Club, came with a fitted sheet that had a top pocket the topper fit into. Though we never had trouble with the topper sliding or shifting this makes it easier to make the bed and helps keep everything in place when lifting the bed to accessing the under bed storage area.

We have just spent our first weekend on the stock matress in our copper canyon 324 and it was not comfortable to say the least. Does everyone else have the short camping queens or do you have the full size queens. Looking for any help and recommendations. Thanks

Most RV Queens are smaller than a reg. queen. (cut your topper to fit)

Our RV Queen is 60 x 72 -- about 8 inches shorter than the regular-sized Queen. Most stock mattresses - regardless of length - are soon replaced entirely or covered with various types of foam toppers. A few sleeps on a stock mattress is all it takes.

Add me to the list. Our memory foam is a life saver to the horrible stock mattress. Makes it very comfortable.

We sleep on our stock queen (60x80) with a 2" memory foam topper. MUCH better.... But I'm still contemplating a tempurpedic replacement.

Memory foam was great to begin with and then kinda went away. We ended up with a Tempurpedic Cloud Luxe. Wow what a difference in the long term. Our alpine came with a King size and we took the Queen Tempurpedic from our Everest when we traded. Love this mattress. Spendy, but you only live once and we spend at least a third of our life in bed. Worth the bucks to us.

Thanks to everyone for your input. We are off to Sam's club this weekend to hopefully find something that will work.
