Quick, simple upgrade to the Stove area

While waiting for the snow to stop in northern GA. I have been doing repairs and such to our '09 Fuzion 403. Of course that meant trips to Home Depot.
As we cruised the isles we found a vinyl "pressed brass" wall treatment.
We have the real pressed brass plates in our kitchen at home so the vinyl was a natural extension for us.
Cost about $150.00 for the vinyl plates , (18" X 24") and the glue.
Took about three hours to install. Simple glue down installation and the stuff cuts with heavy scissors and a razor knife. Cooked dinner tonight and the panels seem stable when exposed to the heat of the kook top.
It was great way to not think about the snow and it looks pretty darned classy to boot.
The before pic....shows silver gray walls
The after Pic ....shows the finished product.

That looks real good. Maybe something I'll have to think about.

Very nice MConnelly!! I love antique copper pots/bowls, so the pressed metal look appeals to me too.
Just might borrow your idea for an update as our Laredo ages.

Thanks for sharing. Terri, the Chevy co-pilot

Those panels are available in a couple of different colors and patterns. We did our kitchen at home with the same product in a silvery color that looks like the old fashioned stamped metal ceilings.

Just a point, the panels will melt or warp if they get warm enough. Slide a cookie sheet or something similar along the wall if you use a large pot or pan that will push heat toward the left or back wall.

Edge finish?

On the front edges, the left tucked into an existing trip piece. On the right , it finished off against the refer side frame. On the tops it tucked in, and in the back , careful cutting and fitting left a very nice fit.
Pre-fit each piece before applying the glue. I did most of the cutting with a razor knife and straight edge. The small trim cuts I used a heavy pair of scissors

The brand that we bought at Lowes is applied with a special double sided tape. Worked pretty well as it has been over two years of continuous use and everything is still in place.

Tape or Glue

Bet it is the same product as the tape is available for the Home Depot product as well. I have used the Polyurethane construction adhesive they recommended before with great results so that was my preference.
I actually bought a roll of tape , $9.95, and returned it after i was finished.
I believe the adhesive is easier to position as you can slide the panel around if need be.

Just my two cents
