Tank doors

I am having troubles with my passenger side propane tank door coming open while going down the interstate. These are very flimsy doors, and it seems to latch tight, but when I hit 65-70mph, my passenger door always opens. I was wandering if anyone else has this issue, and what could I do to remedy the situation?

The inside of the door likely has one or two latches with a metal "tongue" that grips the inside door frame when latched. The simple solution is to first tighten the latch if it's loose at all, then to replace the offending tongue with a slightly longer one.

However, you might also want to make sure nothing else might be going on. Some minor "stretch" of the trailer frame and sidewalls is normal under the extreme wind load at highway speeds---but keep a watchful eye out for any signs a weld might have failed. Such failures often first manifest as simple annoyances like doors flying open.
