Toilet Ball Seal Replacement

I just purchased this 2008 Outback 31RQS, and when we got to our location, noticed the Ball seal in the Toilet isn't holding water.

I have watched a few videos on how to replace and it doesn't look too bad, but my question is how do I know what seal(s) to purchase? Where is a good place to find them?

Thank you,

Steve

Seals can be found at any RV dealer in their parts department. You'll need to tell them what toilet you have, but they may be universal. The parts guy/gal could help you out. Have you tried making sure it's seated we and clean? You'll need rubber gloves for that job. I'd start there.

Thank you, I don't have any dealers close by, and they usually inflate the prices so much, I like to get them online if available.

Thank you,

Steve

I recently replaced my seal with this kit from eBay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/STOP-the-Dom...pZdPcY&vxp=mtr There are many other options on eBay, just need to know for sure your manuf. and model.
Another thing to try before replacing is to lubricate the seal with a vegetable oil and to make sure it pops back to a fully closed position. I let my foot slide off the pedal to snap the closure back instead of simply raising my foot.

I am guessing that I should be able to find the manufacture and model on the toilet itself?

Guess I figured it would be standard for the year and camper model.

Thank you,

Steve

Make and model are usually on the base at the back of the toilet. In RV's the only "standard" is there "is no standard".

Well, there you go. You can't get better than that.

If you have the build sheet, the info should be on there.

Ok, thank you all, guess I can't order parts until I am back at Camp again.

Will try the cleaning and lubricating when I get there.

Thank you all,

I will update after the weekend,

Steve

I tried cleaning it and putting plumbers silicone grease on it, it will hold water most of the time, but not always. I guess I will end up replacing the seals anyway.

Here are some pics if anybody can help identify it.

That toilet appears to be the same as in our NTU 2008 Cougar. I had the same problem. We had a user manual so I was able to get a part number and ordered this from Amazon: Dometic (385311462) Toilet Seal Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FFDPPCA..._gaREkdlkG1ECP
