The Cougar X-Lite brand is half-ton towable, but I don't think they have a 5th wheel toyhauler model. My 326SRX is the standard Cougar line, with a 9800 shipping weight and a 12,700 GVW.

You're totally right. I mis-googled earlier when that one was mentioned and read it wrong. My apologies

I would have probably gotten one of those Cougars or Impacts but my dealership only carries the Carbon, Raptor and Fuzion lines from Keystone and I wasn't willing to travel around to look at other dealers. They also carry the Forest River Puma's and we hated those. Carbon fit our needs pretty well.

I didn't. I've had 5'ers for years and really like to the ease of towing and set-up over a TT.

Question

I toured a Fuzion the other week and was thoroughly impressed. The deck was awesome and everything about it was luxurious. I wish they had a TT option for it, I'd love to check that out.

It also had a bed on the slideout. I've never had one with a bed on the slide, what are the issues with it and why do you guys prefer it not to be that way?

For us it was just a personal preference, my wife doesn't like the orientation of sleeping sideways in a camper..... yeah I know strange but she gets what she wants.

just picked up our Fuzion 345 Chrome Friday and I am very impressed with it. the Auto Level is so nice to have and I needed a 12ft garage..the 12ft garage Raptors were too heavy for me

Firekat, you've probably learned in all your years of experience that good things come your way when momma's happy.

Different frame as fuzion as it appears the basement is deeper. Not sure on what else aside from decor and floor plans

We had the same questions when we were looking as well. Ended up buying the Raptor over the others (chrome or Fuzion). The biggest difference is the amenities. I think the Raptors are built more for long term stays. whatever toy hauler you get make sure to get 2 AC units. ours came with only one and we quickly added the second.

After having done some pretty extensive research I've found that they are both luxury toy haulers and do the same things. It's best to compare the features, then look at floorplans. Here is a side-by-side example of raptor and fuzion.

Fuzion

Raptor

For me, I think the Fuzion is the one that would make me most happy and comfortable. I just have some saving I need to do first

Wife and I spent the last 2 years off and on looking for a toy hauler, finally last Saturday we put our money down on a carbon 327.
It was the first one that she walked into and liked without any doubt, it was also the first that we saw with a 12' garage that wasn't way over our heads in price or size. I did notice things about it like appliances that are similar to our current outback trailer and that's fine, we aren't living in it nor do a I need a big radio with multiple TV's. If I do I can put them in later.

We looked at both and also went with a Carbon just for the money factor. A similar sized Raptor will be 15-20K more and that is a pretty big chunk of change, at least for us it was. Off the top of my head...

Frames, sidewalls, roofs, construction, axles, suspension, front cap, rear ramp, LED use, counter tops, sinks, toilets, furniture are the same.

Raptor has....
High Gloss Exterior
G rated tires
Push to close hatches
Frameless windows standard
Two awnings on front standard where applicable
Four entry steps vs. three
6 Point Hyd. Leveling system (option)
Dual gas tanks
Larger double Door Fridge
Bigger Microwave
Bigger water heater and electric
Fireplace
More and bigger TV's
Blu-Ray Player
Sound Bar
Garage in floor storage bin
Central Vac system
Washer Dryer Hook ups (I think the Carbon 377 has this)

So lots of upgrades on a Raptor and you can see why it costs so much more...and weighs a lot more too!

The Carbon is still a very nice camper....even with its mid-level status.
