bouncy floor on the slide out ?

I have a cougar res327 and have noticed the floor on the dinette side along with the recliners is very spongy if you walk on it. Is this normal?

I posted the identical question last week. The common consensus was that it is normal. I was in another manufacturers trailer and it was worse.

Do you use slideout supportswhen parked with the slideout open?
That takes care of any movement mine has.

More info: I called Keystone Customer Service and asked them about using the supports, they said NO do not use them
just if you have your slide out open more than a few days to a week, run it in and out a couple of times every other week
to keep the system working correctly.

I no longer use the supports that came with my TT.

I have the same issue, I dont notice it at all when im sitting on the chairs tho. Unless i fall thru which happend at the doorway of my sprinter there must have been a knot in the wood about the size of a tennis ball, The dealer fixed it no issues since. I am not worried about it and i use mine daily as im full time for the summer, If i hear cracking i will have the dealer do somthing tho.

The slide is sturdy, just the floor flexes a bit when walking on it to get to the free standing chairs. I am no longer worried about it...

I saw those supports you have and was wondering if they helped with the movement of the whole trailer form walking.

Philip Saran, I know what you're talking about. I have my 5er stabilized pretty well, but any movement on my big slide causes movement throughout the whole trailer. It makes sense when you think about it because the slide is long and deep and hangs out far beyond the main frame. I'm going to get a pair of slide stabilizers this week. Hopefully that will solve the problem.

Okay I just talk to the service department where we bought the camper. It's coming up on a year ownership so we had a few issueswe wanted checked. I listed the floor just to see what they would say or do. After talking with him he agreed the floor flexed more then what should be expected. I was told that they would lift the carpeting and place anothe rpiece of underlayment on top of the subfloor. I am very happy that I didn't just accept this issue. I willl let you know how it turns out.

Okay this is it!!!!!!!! The body shop guy said that the floor is 3/4" plywood and should not flex. The problem is instead of running a full sheet end to end they split it in the middle causing the floor to flex. No support at the seam. He installed 1/2" overlayment on top of the floor and now there is some flex but it doesn't spill the drinks on thetable anymore. I fact it 100 times better. I asked him if this is common. His answer "we are seeing alot more issues on the cougars line, but it was a real problem on the montanna's. campers.

My floor on the slide out feels fine, I have a spongy floor near all my floor vents.

Dave - I would have been surprised IF the suggested first fix - the addition of a piece of underlay - would have made any difference in the floor flex. Pleased to hear that adding another piece "overlayment" ( I assume you mean plywood) almost eliminated the movement.

I am surprised, however, to hear that the shop steward said that the floor was 3/4 plywood. I thought that the floors in most Keystones were particle board. Unfortunately, our Cougar floor is not plywood.

My Mountaineer is the same way. I removed one of the booths to convert it to a hybrid seating arrangement (booth on one side, chairs on the other) but did not like the flexing sensation, so I put the booth back. These things need thicker floors and/or better materials, like honest to God plywood.

In or out?

Sould not be very bouncy when it is out, should not walk on it when the slide is in.

It was when it was out. Not sure why I would need to walk on it when it's in.
