SummerLand 1750RD No Shower Surrond?

I have A 2017 Summerland Mini 1750RD and i was wondering that the shower in my TT does not have a shower surround. My parents have a TT and the place where they take there TT in for repairs said that the shower walls are designed for taking a shower in them. So does the showers walls under the wallpaper some kind of surround material? ive tapped on the shower wall and then the wall on the outside where the shower is and they sound Different?

Some smaller units don’t have a surround. Best advise I can give you is wipe the walls down and dry them off as soon as your done.

In an effort to reduce weight and cost, many entry level trailers do not have some components that we "expect" will be in place. The shower surround is one of those components. Most wallboard is vinyl covered and some manufacturers have elected to rely on that vinyl covering to function as a shower surround. As Chuckster said, you'll need to protect it by wiping the walls down after showering. That's one of the "costs of a less expensive trailer"....

My guess would be that the manufacturers weighed the length of time people keep an entry level RV, the cost to repair during warranty, the convenience of use, the ability to make a unit that's affordable to more people (lower initial price) and the number of people that can be exposed to RVing. Given the length of time "most" consumers keep an entry level RV before moving up, I'd suspect there's a trade-off between the vinyl lasting long enough and being a problem.....

As for your trailer and the "not included shower surround", there are several shower surrounds that can be adapted or simply installed in the shower space you currently have. If maintaining the current vinyl covered wallboard is not acceptable, do some research online and in RV catalogs. I'm sure you can find a shower surround that will fit the shower/tub area and can be installed either as a do-it-yourself modification or as a dealer installed option.

We have actually been thinking about installing shelves in the shower space. Mainly use it for quick hair washing using the shower wand. Unless you have full hookup, the grey tank on the 1750RD will fill up quick. Also, if you're over six feet tall, you're not taking a shower in there anyway. Not without sticking your head out the roof vent.
